I'm giving a presentation in class tomorrow night on music of the 1990's. I'm supposed to dress the part. Any suggestions??? I can't seem to figure out what "look" embodies the 90's music trend. Thanks guys!

The music of 90's really didn't have a style that I can think of....i'll do some research and let you know what I find out. Get chad to do it for you!!!

In the 90's, IMO, a lot of the "alternative" sounding music slid higher up the charts and into the mainstream than it did in the 80's. Pop and hip-hop are still there, but the other stuff has blended in with it. Boy bands and bubble-gum Debbie Gibson-type stuff seem to be virtually gone. There seems to be a lot more anger in today's music.
Maybe if you dressed up in a style like Avril Levigne or Alannis Morrisette?

Maybe the best way to summarize it was that there was no specific "look"; rather, it was more just dress down and style down and be yourself. I don't mean necessarily as "grunge" look as Nirvana, but t-shirts, jeans, and any length hair was prevalant.

With the grunge look...I think flannel shirts where in with tee-shirts. But I might just be water over the dam

Dont brush your hair, or wash your clothes (a pair of dirty jeans and a flannel shirt should do!)
Good luck

But her presentation is tomorrow. You should have told her that 3 or 4 weeks ago for the grunge look.

Look of the 90's was a pair of blue jeans with holes in the seat, white T-shirt, black boots and a black beret hat.

Yeah, the 90's are a lot harder to pin a fashion on than say the 80's, when they had a lot of fads!! But like everyone else, the grunge is the only one that sticks out, unless you wanna go Spice Girls and wear a tiny dress with sneakers that are big enough to fit Ronald McDonald!!!

Pearl Jam look in the early 90's and KORN the gothic look in the late 90's.

I was going to say go with grunge too - flannel shirts. Jeans. Messy hair, think Kurt Cobain. He used to rinse his hair with coolaid! Now that would make a statement Jen!

Acid washed jeans, backpack purses, butterfly hairclips, Doc Martin shoes. scrunch socks, Tommy Hilfigar clothing, Guess jeans, baggy jeans and the infamous Jennifer Aniston haircut!

Purple hair with pink highlights, LOTS of black mascara/blue shadow, black nail polish, leather and chrome everywhere, and a plenitude of body piercings will do just fine.
And don't forget the Doc Marten's boots!

I don't think Mrschad should have to pierce anything for a one time presentation street...
