Yes I think that somewhere in the vast universe there is life but what I dont know is if it is the same as planet earth is but some form of life is out there. What is your answer to this question from all here?

Science vs Religion, they both try to prove each other wrong, but as I see it Science may be ahead at the game. So the answer is yes we are not alone.

I think religion has very little to do with whether you believe there is life on another planet. Since the universe is so immense, I believe it is certainly possible that there is life elsewhere. And I consider myself to be a religious person.

Define "life."

Do you mean ANY form of life "out there" or INTELLIGENT life? IMO, it's possible that there could be some bugs, bacteria, and maybe a virus or two or thirty living out there. But intelligent life? As in another human or human-like species that communicates with its own, studies, learns, prays(?), dreams, and so forth?

As I always say, I'm a very skeptical person. So, someone would have to offer me some heavy-duty proof that there is even the slightest possibilty of life on another planet or in some other galaxy, beyond that of the eternal afterlife of our own saved human souls in Heaven.

"Contact" is probably the only sci-fi movie that I know of where they introduced the possibilty of life out there actually being the eternally living souls of our dearly departed. But even then, I don't think a big satellite dish is going to pick up on a frequency that can only be felt/heard/known by faith, not communications equipment.

Yes, I believe there is some form of life out there. The universe is so immense that I can't see why there wouldn't be SOMETHING out there.

It would be very unrealistic to think that we are the only intelligent life form out there. Unless of Course we were the trial that God did and we screwed up this earth so terribly that he said "that's enough" I will not do that again. On the other hand Maybe we were the trial and error and he has created another, more perfect life form.

But back to earth, blizzard. Yes, I do believe in more intelligent life forms out there in this vast, endless space. We are but a spec of dust on the furniture of a greater existence. Something like that Dr. Seuss book I read along time ago.

They probably look something like this ----> :35:

Sure. There could be.
Do I think there is? I dunno.

In the vastness of the universe there's probably a chance. I don't think that there's a conflict between science and religion. Is science "winning?" Nah. The problems come in when close-minded religious OR scientific people step over the line into the other realm. Think of the middle age church persecuting people who believed that the earth was round, or that the earth goes around the sun. It happened. I personally believe that the earth is billions of years old. Doesn't shake my faith. Seems that whenever religious leaders make pronouncements about the natural world, they are historically wrong. Conversely, so-called "scientist" who proclaims that there is no god is equally in error. Life is a big mystery. That's the way it's supposed to be. If we knew it all, we'd be God. Can't have that.

In some of the recent articles I've read by prominent astrophysicists, they come across as some of the most humble people you'd ever want to meet. Fact is, as our knowledge increases, our awareness of our ignorance increases faster. Our understanding will never catch up.

Astrophysists now believe that the so-called "dark matter" in the universe is about 6 times more massive than all the matter we can detect. The dark matter is only evident by the gravitational effects observed in distant galaxies. Do they have any idea what it is? A parallel universe? Other dimensions of existence (think of a two dimensional creature on a piece of paper that can't comprehend the 3D world that we know) The astrophysicists shrug their shoulders. The mind boggles and I write long posts. Hey! what's for dinner!

it would be a surprise if it were not so-the Creator has created many "beings" other then human that are not constrained by earthly bonds. just the stuff that "seti" isn't looking for, an answer against a creationless universe.

I agree with your way of "yes."

It is just about unanimous with thinking there is life on other planets. It appears that if the question were worded a bit differently there would be more of a split. :)
