So who and when did your parents break the news to you about old saint Nick? I cant remeber exactly how old I was, but I do remember that my mom told me.. However it was about two years after I already knew.. LOL... She told me one year about two weeks before christmas.. My cousin was coming to stay with us for the holiday and she already knew the "truth" lol.. So my mom wanted to break it to me before my cousin did.. Lil did she know though that I had just been playing along the last couple of years for her sake.. I originaly found out from kids at school... Wasnt a big deal to me.. Heck it was all about the presents back then.. I didnt care who was getting them for me.. As long as I was getting them.. LOL...
My oldest nephew is 12 and he now knows, but I remember a few years ago someone at school was telling him santa was a fake, so he came home and told his mom the kid had been telling him that.. But my nephew told her, my sister, that he knows the kid was lying.. Because there was no way mom and dad could afford all those gifts.. LOL...
But anyways thought it would be cool to here your stories on how you found out, or how your kids found out etc...

I thought that there was a Santa until a couple of years ago when my Daughter told me the news. She said, I know there is no Santa, I know its Mommy.

I was 5 years old when I then knew about Santa not being real. While in school the kids were talking about that and from that moment then I knew santa was not real.

I was in the 2nd grade and was being picked on by the older kids for believing in Santa. When I came home crying from school one day my mom told me the truth. I'm one year older than my sister, so I was so excited to know the truth while she still believed in Santa.. I guess I tormented her a bit much about me knowing the truth, so my mom caved and told her too.
Chad says he doesn't want to "lie" to Dustin and have him believe in something that doesn't exist, that something being Santa. We're butting heads here because Dustin WILL grow up to believe in Santa. Chad, I'm winning this argument, back down.

IMO it is not a "lie" for kids to believe in Santa, that is just your secret nickname.
or is that secret saint "nick" name....lol

I noticed when my mom wrote a note and it was her writing... LOL!

I pretty much knew Santa wasn't real after I was like 5 years old.

It was a sort of an evolution thing I guess. There never really was "a moment".

When I was 7 I caught my parents sneaking out a huge air hockey table out of their closet, but I believe I kinda suspected the truth a year or two before that. I think it was harder for me to break the news to them that I knew than it would have been for them to tell me.

LOL!!! I was probably about 7, the year that I moved to Iowa (1989), and my cousin Haley(PuddleDuck) spilled the beans (she's 4 years older), but like Chad I didn't care because I still got presents....and I managed to keep it secret from my brother for two years, I think he took it a bit harder....

I think it was kind of a gradual process for me too because I don't remember a point when the light went on for me. My 7-year old is still struggling with it. I tell him that we get the presents, but Santa is a real "character." He's a little confused
Now I have to tell a story. When I was very young, even before I started shcool, my parents got one of our neighbors to dress up as santa and visit our house. There was a knock at the back door and they asked me to open it. THERE HE WAS! SANTA CLAUS! I was terrified! I slammed the door and locked it. Then I hid in the cupboard under the kitchen sink. My parents opened the door and let him in. Then he opened the cupboard door and tried to get me out. I was still too scared to come out. He had to take off the mask and beard so I could see who he was before I would come out.
I guess I was bad that year.
