IOC Member Robbed in Athens
ATHENS (Reuters) - A cheeky thief has made off with a bag from a limousine being used by International Olympic Committee member Alex Gilady of Israel while it was parked in front of the offices of the Greek Olympic Committee.
Ironically, the theft happened Thursday as IOC president Jacques Rogge praised huge security plans for next year's Athens Games.
Gilady's driver was in the car for all but a few minutes while the Israeli attended a meeting. "He realized the bag was gone when Gilady returned from his meeting," a police official said Friday.
The bag contained about 500 euros, $500, official documents and personal papers.
