I chose family. We had a nice pre-Thanksgiving visit with my nephew, on short leave from Iraq on Wednesday. Then a nice low key home cooked turkey dinner yesterday. Wx however was just lousy in Cincinnati! Rain all day long. Nasty, nasty. But it was a very good holiday.

Family. Had all of my hubby's relatives over all 15 of them - his 82 year old grandmother was here from Ohio. I am tired and wore out and gosh darnit I have work today - so here I am.

I am thankful my husband roasted our turkey in the oven. Read this article! Poor guy, he was just trying to help his wife who recently had a baby:

Each year, we read about someone who is seriously hurt or damage that occurs when people try to deep fry their turkeys. I wonder if people just aren't following the directions explicitly or if these deep fryers are just down right dangerous and should be banned.

It is probably human error when frying turkeys. We fried one yesterday for the first time and had no problems. I believe alot of the problems people have with frying the turkey is because they are not allowing the center of the turkey to be dry before deep-frying.

None of the above...I slept through most of the day (sick again), but managed to eat with the family, then back to bed. Later, I stayed up all night, unable to sleep, and cleaned up the UNBELIEVABLE mess in the kitchen until 6 AM.

I have a policy in my house. I will get up early and do the cooking, but everyone else needs to do the cleaning. It usually works out pretty well.

Yesterday I took a nap with my 5 and 2 year olds waiting for the dinner hour, and we sat around reading stories while everyone else cleaned up.

Family. We spent the holiday at Marty's sister's and had a fun time. He was relatively relaxed and there were plenty of stories that kept us rolling! The weather was beautiful, not too warm or cold and sunny. today is another story. The food was great as usual!

I went with "Food." It is was usually "Family," when I lived in Massachusetts... but here in Florida, this year my parents and I went across the street with neighbor's and their friends and for a very short time around 7:00 pm Eastern, some more of their friends stopped by. So, when there were more friends than family, it is hard to go with "Family." :)

The weather was fine, but that didn't matter as we were inside the entire time; aside from our neighbor's lanai during the early evening.

I wasn't up for either televised parade and dislike football.

well i would have to say the family. the food was great, but without family it would have been just another big meal. i only get to see my brother maybe once a year and it was so good to see him and his family. only one problem my dog buffy didnt care for his dalmation. but we still got a big laugh out of it.
