This annoys me because the people that are really making a difference, TEACHERS, are sooooooo underpaid for ALL that they do.

Yes, they most definitely are!! However, for the most part, you never really hear them complain about the wages, because what they are doing is so important to them!!

HEY!! Congressmen are not on the list of overpaid.
They should give their raises to teachers, firefighters and the police.

Anyone who can hit a ball, fall on a ball, throw a ball, etc. is hideously overpaid. Ministers, policemen, firemen, and teachers get paid so little, and their work is so very important. In the instance of paying workers for what they are worth, our priorities in this country are messed up big time.

Here's what I think should NOT be on that list-
Real Estate Agents selling high-end homes- Most real estate agents selling high-end homes have worked hard for years selling average homes...eventually moving up the ladder to selling high-end homes is their reward for years of hard work.
Pilots for major airlines- These people are responsible daily for the safe transport of hundreds of people. And, regardless of what some people may think, flying an airliner requires a great deal of skill and experience.
I'll probably post Friday on what should be on the list.

Another one not on that list, Landscapers.......that's our main business aside from the Environmental Impact studies. Let' say, in a good year, a small company like ours hits the 6 digit figures, this year was a RECORD breaker for sure......"OH HOW I WISH it were ALL profit!"

I disagree with wedding photographers... Remember they usually work only one wedding a weekend- quite a few are college educated and constantly upgrading thier equipment. The big wigs are usually way overpaid- but the little guys are keeping thier own shops open and usually struggling.
And having recently paid nearly 4K (after all the family reprints and the massive albumn) I've at least been in the trenches recently LOL (They were a
very low quote) As far as mediocre work- I'm biased but I think it was quite exceptional. (I even finally have a big chunk of the digitals scanned if anyone cares to see for themselves

How about cable news hosts and co-hosts, maybe even anchors and reporters? I've heard that some of them make 1 million to 5 million dollars a year. Especially during the primetime hours.

I agree with wedding photographers NOT being overpaid...not just the immense and expensive equipment, but all the film they take, having to wade through "proof sessions" that the customer can "live with" is a b$&*h in itself...and then, the prints have to be absolutely PERFECT, which alone is quite a feat.
Then, there's that oversize, "painted"-looking shot...I've done superstat prints like this, touching up here, "ignoring" human faults there.
Those guys and gals earn every penny of it.

That's where digital photography comes in handy. Instead of taking rolls and rolls of film and having to spend all of that time developing it, digital is more compact (No film) and is developed instantly.(they can shoot many more pics for the family to choose from than with film) Digital photographers can charge less and still be profitable and upgrade their equipment when needed. Proof sessions can be done on a laptop, or pc in the studio final proofs can then be e-mailed to the photo finishing people or printed right there at the studio if the photographer has the right equipment. Pictures also come out magnificent.
After all that, I agree that a good photographer is worth every penny that they charge.
