MCKINNEY, Texas -- Humane Society workers are holding a tiger cub discovered roaming in Collin County. It's at an animal shelter in McKinney.

The tiger, which weighs about 50 pounds, was running along Highway 720 when Frisco police picked him up and called the SPCA. The Humane Society is trying to find the tiger's owner. If the owner has a permit, the tiger will be returned to him or her.

If the owner does not have a permit, they'll try to find a sanctuary for the tiger.

If that's the same story I saw, it was a very young tiger and someone had removed it's claws, perhaps with the thought of making it household pet. I think that's just disgusting - knowing that it can't defend itself, they should have brought it to an animal shelter or zoo. What is wrong with people?

Interesting, isn't it how HUMANS decide to adopt a wild animal......then so easily change their minds and figure survival is just instinctual with any animal?!?

A month or so ago, police found a full-grown tiger in an apartment when they had been called to rescue a forgotten dog!

This past week, our local paper here in Mi. had a story on a cute little blue-grey fox (NOT native to this area) that was found cowering in a homeowners garage. The Animal Patrol person who found it is thinking about keeping it since the owner cannot be found. It's tame and gets along well with her dogs...........p

John, I am sure you heard about the tiger that escaped in Lake county; I believe it was in Leesburg, to be exact.

I am about a half hour northwest of Leesburg.
