Russia: U.N. decree will fail

Moscow sees no possibility that the U.N. Security Council will approve a second resolution on Iraq that directly or indirectly sanctions the use of force, Russia's U.N. ambassador says

Confirms what I have been saying

War is unlikely, despite the bluster. The fact is is that Bush does not have it in him to attack with the entire world opposing him, espcially if Blair does not get his second resolution

In a way, it does appear that Bush may be having second thoughts. Lots of opposition and growing protests may have him rethinking his decision.

IMHO I think he is waiting for more support and from what I can see we may never get it. I hope the situation is resolved soon one way or another. If we are going to go, LETS ROLL and get it over with, so all those soilders can go home to their family.

I'm feeling more and more he is not going to get the kind of support he expected to get. So if he doesn't and that's why he is stalling right now, then what decision will he come to? I,personally am getting tired of the waiting game. Or we or aren't we going in to invade Iraq? Again, JMO.
Whatever happen to, either you're with us or you're not????

  If anyone has it in them to attack without world wide support than its Bush... I am one that feels we should attack now. No more resolution games, but unfortunatly that is not how things work.

My thoughts...

Alot of pro's and con's going right now. Who knows what tomorrow will bring - I don't like the prospect of going to war - but Saddam must be dealt with - and I think the only way is going to be by war.

We should attack now

I wanted a response on Sept 11, 2001.

The more Bush delays, the less likely an attack is ever going to happen. Seems like February 1998 all over again as the days go by

Right now, they're haggling over those missles. It seems that HBlix is showing some backbone in the matter. I heard some reports that france may come around if SH refuses to destroy the missles. The longer this goes on, the more difficult it will become. SH has had lots of time to prepare, and the weather is warming up.

I don't see President Bush backing down with Saddam still in power. The only thing that has gotten any concessions from Saddam is the massed US forces around him. With Turkey supposedly finally on-board the pressure is growing bigger everyday. Any balk by Iraq in destroying the missiles could be the last straw. I fully expect a "show" start to the missile destruction destruction on Friday but not much more than that.

Yeah, I'm still waiting for a response for September 11, 2001 too.

I hope that the other countries feel that they will have no choice but to support a war effort if Iraq doesn't destroy those missles. It seems that their patience level is waning too. I'd rather see this come to a peaceful conclusion, especially if we can get Saddam exciled, which probably won't happen.

Peaceful would be definitely better but isn't going to happen IMO. Only one way to get Saddam out and that is going to be to take him out!

We might as well get started. LET"S ROLL!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately Marshall, I agree. They are only delaying what IMHO is the inevitable      Lets not make the same mistake twice, take that SOB out and do it now!!!!!!!!! :grr:

Bush won't change his mind and back down. Absolutely No Way! You can count on that!

There is no way he can back down now. We are in too deep, and if he (we) back down now, all credibility is lost and we are open to further terrorist attacks because we will be labeled as having no backbone.

I wonder if by painting ourselves into this proverbial corner was part of the terrorist's plan? Was it perhaps contemplated that this would be something the powerful US would do, only to end up looking weak in the rest of the world's eyes? Hmmm...

Well, after Saddam's statement that he won't destroy those missiles, perhaps we'll get the support we need for the second resolution.
