TEAM PILOT, NURSE, PARAMEDIC. No injuries reported.
Patient on board.

DESCRIPTION While enroute to the receiving facility with a
trauma patient onboard, pilot reported diverting
to a nearby airport due to a hydraulic warning
light. On short-final approach to the landing
area tail rotor authority was lost. Vertical
ground impact from 20-30 feet caused aircraft to
come to rest on its right side after ground
contact of main and tail rotor blades. Aircraft
was substantially damaged.

ADDITIONAL INFO Patient transported to receiving facility by
alternate company aircraft. Pilot and medical
crew were taken to a nearby hospital for
observation, then released a short time later.
Patient sustained no futher injuries.
