Just heard this on the radio... An "incident" has occured and secret service have drawn their guns while Bush is in Mississippi... this is initial info. and may change. I will try to keep you updated

Latest I have is that a car ran into the building where Bush had just finished speaking at. :o They have no reason to believe the driver was targeting the President.

Here is a report from the wires... A sigh of relief!

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. Nov. 1 — A car penetrated the security perimeter around the arena where President Bush was speaking Saturday and rammed the building. Authorities swarmed the vehicle.
The president's motorcade was still parked at the DeSoto Civic Center, and Bush was preparing to leave the arena where he had given the first of four campaign speeches scheduled for Saturday.

Fewer than five minutes after the car crashed at a slow speed into a loading dock area at the arena, Bush's motorcade left for his next stop, in Paducah, Ky.

Let's just hope and pray it was an accident and not an attempt on the President's life.

I've seen quite a few incidents in which someone accidently hit the gas instead of brake and ran into something...including once when my mother plowed through a chain link fence (and I was a terrified 8 year old riding in the back seat :o :o

LOL, the day after I got my license I drove my brother to the Kwik Shop and instead of hitting the brake I hit the gas and went up on the sidewalk and almost right into the building!!! Now I have a reputation for being a bad driver..... I am better, promise!!!

Well.. I was always told growing through high school.. that every president who was elected in a year ending in zero has either been killed, had a threat made against there life or died in office. Lets' just see what happens.

I also just read that story off the website for the Minneapolis newspaper. It's almost downright sick that the Fox,Msnbc and CNN {the 3 news websites I pay most attention too} don't even say a word..

I know that CNN did mention it on tv. So did MSNBC... I flipped onto FOX figuring that they would and either they had already mentioned or did not mention it yet. The news websites are a little slower at getting the info. out.

Wx- they are probably waiting to do a "FOX NEWS ALERT" lol {fox news alert theme plays} lol

Actually he is supposed to be in Gulfport. I am headed out now to see him and hear him speak. I have reserved seating.

Wow...scary! :o But seeing that it was at a slow speed, I don't think it was aimed at the President...maybe an old person?

Not entirely true. I would bet that all presidents have had threats against their life.

Here's a true story Jacki....only two days after recieving my drivers license in 1978, I tried to swat a bee in my car while driving, ran off the road and plowed through a stop sign and neighbor's mailbox :o :o

I was mortified and embarrassed....but it taught me a very valuable lesson: always concentrate and keep my eyes on the road. In 25 years since, I've never made that mistake again.
