Did anyone watch the new Fox sitcom - Minute with Stan Hooper - last night? I briefly read about it in the Sunday paper and the critic said not to miss it. So since we had just watched That 70s Show, we tuned in. It was funny! Don't know how long it's been since I liked a new show right off the bat like that! Norm MacDonald plays the male lead. If you missed it, catch it next week. Afterwards my daughter Nina reminded me I had announced I would not take on any new shows, we have plenty each week we faithfully watch. Well, add another now! Here's the plot summary, from TVGuide.com:

Minute with Stan Hooper

Debut: Norm Macdonald just wants a simple life. As disheartened TV journalist Stan Hooper, he flees New York City for a quaint Wisconsin burg in order to bring more authenticity to his news features on the heartland. But while in search of a more bucolic lifestyle, Stan encounters such colorful locals as a bombastic cheese mogul (Fred Willard); a nagging butler who comes with the Hoopers' new home; and a gregarious fellow who runs a diner that serves cappuccino. Penelope Ann Miller costars as Stan's wife, Molly.

Many intentional similarities to the old Newhart show, the one set in a Vermont Inn.
