We have, indeed, lost a very valuable member to our group: streetsoldier. This was a direct cause of people whom I shall not mention but they know who they are. These people would attack anything my father would say by posting messages about "protesting war" and other such nonsense that countered my father's political views which were not meant to be countered in the first place. This would make him a little aggrivated, thus, rising his blood pressure, which he cannot afford. Again, I have named no one, but you know who you are. :bgrr:

Sorry to see him leave...he is a strong person and free-willed and also outspoken as well. I'm shocked he'd just leave though. I hope that he can collect his thoughts and come back....he shouldnt let a few people here peeve him into dropping the sword. While I dont think I ever got on Bill's bad side in debating issues, I know a few myself who have. Again, I hope he can see around a few meaningless people like that as their words are just that...only laid out here for debate. Take care wherever you are and hope to see you back here.

What a shame ... he barely got here and already he had to leave. To those who forced him out: I hope you realize the consequences of your actions. To streetsoldier: I am sorry that it came to this. I will miss you, Weatherbuddy.

That's so disappointing. I really enjoyed his posts, and I hope he'll drop in on us soon with Annabelle (she be a ho').

I really liked discussing topics with him. I hope he feels better. But i doubt posters are gonna avoid disagreeing with people b/c of health issues. If ya post your opinions there is someone bound to disagree. I mean that in all sincerity..not trying to start anything. Best wishes

Tell him I hope he feels better and I'll miss him if he doesn't come back. I always enjoy his posts.
I hope to see him here again, but not if it jeopardizes his health.

I can't believe that he left because of a debate of an issue but it is his decision and we have to respect that.
It is the first time in storm2k this happens and I hope that the debates of the issues here goes well and with respect to the other people points of view.
Bill come back because we need you in the issues to discuss them and you do it very well with your points of view.

Sorry to see streetsoldier leave the storm2k board.
Hope he reconsiders and returns to the site. And yes, I have a very good idea who he is referring to.
And yes, they know who they are. What a shame!

I know that the same thing happened at TWC Off Topic forum shortly before it was taken down. He did end up coming back.
The things that we are discussing are very volitile and there will be disagreements, you can count on it! Everyone has the right to express their views and to disagree with someone else's point of view.
I most certainly hope that he gets better and does come back, but I don't want him to do anything that would jeopardize his health!
Get Well soon Streetsoldier!
Hiya DJ!!!!!

I too regret that Streetsoldier has decided to leave our family. I tried to convince him to stay but was unsuccessful. Health considerations must come first and we all can understand that.
Debate is a time honored and useful method to communicate differences in opinion. We fully support and encourage the debate of ideas on this board and every member has the right to voice and defend their positions. The only thing we have ever asked is that posts remain civil. To date there have only been a couple of times where the staff felt the need to edit a post because of content. I hope everyone realizes that if you post a strong opinion on a subject you can bet that there will be a strong response, it's the American way!
We all wish Streetsoldier good health and good luck! As a fellow veteran, I say thank you to him for his sacrifice for our country!

I myself hope that Streetsoldier is doing well and I hope I am not the reason for his leaving. If I offended him I wish he would have contacted me. I know sunny shine and I had a little difference of opinion, but that was solved like adults.

If it was me, someone please PM me with his e-mail address and I will apologize. I had no idea he had a condition like this.
I am sorry if it was me...I was only expressing opposing viewpoints. Those opinions help everyone to see all sides of the issue, whether they agree and believe is not my intention.

firehead... my heart sank when I read the first few lines as I thought he had passed away!! Thank goodness I kept reading.
I have grown quite fond of your Father and how precious for him to have a child who defends him. Good for you!!
Please ask him from me to reconsider. Your Father has the ability to stand on his own two feet as far as debate is concerned. He seems to be a strong willed, good hearted human being. He adds flavor to this message board. Tell him to get some rest, regroup and return to us safely.

Well guys, thank you for responding so actively to my post. Keep in mind wx247, that it wasn't just one person who did this, it was several people. He named a few, and you were not one of them he mentioned, but he kept alot of them in, hoping that I wouldn't name them. Well, he succeeded in that. He only named 2, so I will not point them out as if they were the only ones who caused this.
I noticed that some of you brought up health issues, and they obviously didn't seem very harmful to him to most of you, so I think I need to expand on that. He can barely walk, he is in constant pain from his back and chest, sometimes just from sitting in front of the computer. He has developed carpal tunnel syndrome from typing (he never learned how to touch type). Sometimes it takes almost everything he's got just to get out of bed, and the first thing he wants to do is come here. He realizes that this is detrimental to his health in many ways and he apologizes for the necessity of resigning.
I will try, however, to use this thread to show him that there are some on this board that care, and that he shouldn't let a few measly annoyances keep him from his friends.
To Firehead and Streetsoldier.....

Thank you for posting and keeping us informed on your father's decision. I hope you will keep him informed of this site. Maybe in due time - he will realize how important a part of this message board he was...his values, his opinions and mostly his thoughts were read daily.
I hope you will continue to post and be an active part of this board Firehead - you are your father's son.
Again Streetsoldier - I hate to see you go - but know our prayers and thoughts are with you.
Sincerely,
Patricia aka Ticka1

Firehead & Stormsoldier
I will keep you both in my prayers [ I had no idea of his physical pain. He only hinted that he was hurting emotionally, but I didn't know why ]
I wish you both peace.

Bill - please reconsider

Streetsoldier has always been a great conversationalist and patrotic soul who didn't pretend he knew everything about everything - he has an open mind and would discuss subjects that were important to him. We have had very lively discussions over the months, and he never dissed anyone or put them down because he thought he was superior. A true American. Godspeed, Bill - come on back.

Firehead, tell your dad that I salute him for soldiering on. Of course he knows what's best for himself. It's been a pleasure making his aquaintance and I'm hopeful to hear from him again.
