Would-be robber dressed as Elvis leaves the building empty-handed.
Richmond, Virginia (AP) — A would-be robber might be singing "Jailhouse Rock" -- if police catch him.
A man dressed as Elvis -- complete with a mask of The King, a dark-colored jump suit and dark glasses -- tried to rob a Shoney's restaurant in Virginia yesterday.
Police say the man walked into the restaurant wearing regular clothes and went into the bathroom. He emerged a few minutes later in full Elvis regalia.
The man approached two store clerks and held out a bag, demanding money. The man didn't display a weapon but had his hand in his pocket as if he had one.
The clerks didn't hand over any money, and Elvis left the building empty-handed.
