France's Long "hate America" campaign

#1 Postby sunny shine » Thu Feb 20, 2003 9:11 pm

When Germany threatened France during World War 1, American "doughboys" came to the rescue.

Thirty years later, when France was conquered by Nazi Germany and her people enslaved, tens of thousands of Americans gave their lives to defeat Germany and free France.

After World War 2, France was one of the largest beneficiaries of the United States Marshall Plan, which saved them from poverty and rebuilt their economy.

THEN, when the Soviet Union threatened Europe during the Cold War, for over 40 years "American Nuclear Shield" again protected France from Soviet invasion and conquest.

Over and over again, the United States has saved France from political downfall and slavery. And over and over France continues to turn their backs on us.

They did not stand with us during the Cuban Missile Crisis with Castro. They would not let our jets fly over their air space when Reagan bombed Libya after they were linked to a terrorist group that killed American soldiers. I believe that was during Khadafi's time in Libya.

But a report that I heard today from Richard Perle makes alot of sense. He stated, "France is no longer the ally it once was." "I have long thought there were forces in France intent on reducing the American role in the World."

I've had a few very interesting E-mails from "T-Rex", if anyone remembers him, about the French...here's some of his take on them.

France is an old, once-world-class power, and wants that status again. It has had to become "allied" with others to survive, which galls the fragile French ego terribly; first England, then America took the dominant role in world affairs, which the French believe should be theirs.

Even NATO has France playing third fiddle to their ancient nemesis, Germany, behind the US and UK. In the EU, France again lost their desire to become "the" dominant nation to the UK and Germany, and now is using what little "punch" they have to punish prospective EU members who supported the US by denying them EU membership.

Similarly, France is using the "veto power" given them on the Security Council (as a concession to Charles de Gaulle after WW II) as a weapon against, not the true enemies of the world's peace, but the US and UK, whose only "crime" is not giving up command of any coalition force to French military officials.

It's not just the $$$, friends; we are dealing with an ancient, proud and touchy people here, who lost their teeth with Napoleon Bonaparte in 1815, and have never regained that preeminence.

The bad blood between France and the US started during WWII. The United States did not take stance against the Vichy French government which collaborated with the Germans. It's ironic that this second French Government collaborated in order to appease the German's. Now the French Government practises appeasement themselves. The fact that or biggest supporter is the British Government only make matters worse since the English and the French have a long history of bad blood. Add on top of this the power struggle going on in Europe over controll of the EU and you end up with a real mess.

Exactly! I sometimes wonder why we called France our allies in the first place. France is not alone in this role either, Belgium is right behind them.

Lest we forget too that France has "been in bed" with Saddam Hussein for years and years. They are trying to take a "moral" stand against war. They have been known to take "blood money" from Saddam and NOW they claim to be the guardians of peace and morality? I do not think so.

They do not care about the way they are handling things may cause millions of American men and women to die needlessly and puts all of the United States people at risk of another wave of terrorist attacks as long as they get to protect their "blood money". It does not take a rocket scientist to figure that one out either.

As a distinguished guest on FoxNews said, "Belgium isn't a country; it's a chocolate bon-bon!"
