Just what we don't need is a President who's in the Teamster's pocket...I've followed Gephardt's career ever since he was a St. Louis alderman, and I do not view him as having Presidential timber.

Hmmm...I think I'm going to throw up.

No offense democrats...of course you need a candidate but I just wish it would be someone I could stand to watch speak. Gephardt, like Gore just plain nauseates me. They talk to the American people like they think we have a kindergarten mentality. There's got to be a better choice out there. :?

I saw that and was amused as well by some of his statements concerning how the Republicans were at fault for Sept. 11th. But all us Clinton bashers know darn well why Sept. 11th happened, right streetsoldier?

He had alot of nerve blaming the Bush administration past and present for our borders and military being in the shape they were, which allowed Sept. 11 to happen. Heck, all those foreigners were training right here in the United States during the Clinton Administration. Hmmmm... oh yes, sure, Gephardt for President. :grrr:

Don't laugh; the Democrats are already showing themselves as being splintered and factionalized, given the number and leanings of the eight who have already thrown their hats in.

HILLARY (God help us!) may be the only true catalyst the Dems have in 2004 to rally behind...and she KNOWS it. :o

I just made this up.

Q. How many democrats does it take to change a light bulb?

A. It doesn't matter. They spend the whole time trying to blame someone for the bulb burning out.

I don't think we can blame any President for "those foreigners" you so graciously  pointed out. Blaming GW is just as wrong as blaming Clinton. You would have more substantial and accurate claim if you blamed Clinton for not taking out Ossama when he had a chance!

I am from Missouri and don't care for Gephardt at all, but to lay blame for Sept. 11th on the Democratic president before Bush is just as unjust and cruel as what Gephardt said. If anyone should shoulder some of the blame... it is the FBI/CIA. I mean...that is THEIR job isn't it?

Clinton is the one who cut the military budget. Clinton is the one who handcuffed the CIA and their abilties to infiltrate terrorist groups. Oh kind sir the list goes on. Look up the facts on Clinton before you judge me or ANYONE ELSE on these boards.

read my "Military and Defense spending" post to see when the defense spending cuts really started and by whom.

I am not judging ANYONE...just stating my opinion. If I offended you, I am sorry but countering/differing opinions have just as much right to be heard. My opinion is that Presidents cannot be held singularly responsible for an event such as 9-11.

Hey...no bad blood here! :) Just making sure differing opinions are heard. As a student of journalism I have become outspoken and have learned to let people hear all angles and let them decide. No one had even challenged anything any of you had said. I was not meaning to attack You personally, but merely challenging your ideals and presenting an alternative or supplemental opinion.

Healthy debate is wonderful and while we may not agree I respect your opinion and you as a person... however, my viewpoint may clash. :)

sunny shine,

Please understand that confrontation, dissemination of ideas and ideals that others might not agree with is part of the process of growth, education and (in some cases) healing; you need not apologize for that which you truly believe, unless proven wrong by facts not in evidence before you posted...and even then, accept correction gracefully, without rancor or bitterness, and go on from there.
