A UPS flight from Los Angles to Louisville Kentucky was forced to land at Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix last night at 2200 hrs......the pilots were forced to evacuate the plan by rope from the cockpit windows. As of this early morning, no news of a bomb, they are however still searching the plane. The plane was forced to the end of the north runway, far away from the terminal and other aircraft :o Stay tuned as details develop!

UPS plane makes emergency landing at Sky Harbor

A UPS cargo jet made an emergency landing at Sky Harbor International Airport on Tuesday night after a bomb threat was phoned in to the company.

Three crew members rappelled down a rope dangling from the cockpit of the Boeing 757, which was isolated at the east end of the north runway.

Members of the Phoenix police bomb squad boarded the plane about 11 p.m. to begin what was expected to be a three-hour search.

The jet had taken off from Los Angeles and was on its way to Louisville, Ky., when it was diverted to Phoenix about 8:30 p.m. Airport spokeswoman Jeanine L'Ecuyer said no flights were affected by the incident, although emergency crews did close at least one road near the airport.

L'Ecuyer said UPS received one or two phone calls about a suspicious device on board inside a package and diverted the plane to Phoenix.

I just hope there are no bomb threats here at school.
