Canadian Prison Wants Flavored Condoms For Inmates

WINNIPEG, Manitoba -- Just any old condoms won't do for prison inmates in one Canadian province.

Last week, the Manitoba government requested bids on 40,000 fruit-flavored condoms for prisoners in jails and youth centers. But now government officials are having second thoughts.

One Justice Department official says the request for 40,000 condoms may have been excessive. As for the fruit flavor -- the official now says regular condoms will be OK.

The Justice Department is defending the idea of supplying condoms to prisoners, saying the move would help stop the spread of disease.


Ummm my question.. WHAT THE HELL DO INMATES NEED CONDOMS FOR??

ummm....exactly what do a bunch of male (or female) prisoners need condoms for in the 1st place?
