Are you a *coupon clipper*?

How many of you clip and use coupons? We eagerly await the Sunday paper and all the grocery coupons in it.....we try to use coupons every time we go grocery shopping, especially dog food and smoke coupons  . My step mother is a *coupon fanatic*....there's been times she has gone shopping, spent over $80, by the time she uses her coupons, her bill sometimes is less than 30$'s :o

I use coupons sometimes. It isn't a necessity, however. They are nice to use, but I do get annoyed sometimes when the person in front of me has a coupon for everything. I don't mind some, but if they have one for everything it takes so long. I guess that is a sign of society working on me though -- no patience.

I'm not much of one, but I should be. Being that I have a $40 limit per week, coupons would really help me each week when it comes to shopping. ;)

I eagerly await the Sunday paper too. I went to the grocery store Friday. The actual bill was 152.00. When I finished up with the coupons the bill came to 83 bucks.

I never find any coupons for dog or cat food. That darn Science Diet never gives you a break. lol.

I clip coupons also. I get mad at myself though when I clean out my coupon folder and find some that I forgot to use. I don't think I've saved as much as you Lindaloo or Dennis's step mother in one shopping trip (mine average about $100 - $110 a week), but every coupon does help!

You know... that reminds me... I hate when there is a coupon on something in the store and then the cashiers don't see it and they don't give you the money off. It would be all right if it was just once and a while, but they do it all the time where I USED to shop.

Only once in a while....except for coupons from Pizza Hut, KFC, and other restaurants...which I always clip.

My unoffical nickname is the Coupon Lady. I am a coupon nut to say the least. I have a coupon for almost everything I buy. I actually participate in coupon swapping. I type up all the coupons I have and trade them with other woman. I am a member of a coupon board: http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-ppcoupon You should check it out sometime if you're interested in saving money. Just last week my total came to $150 and after coupons it came down to just under $100.

Lindaloo, I have 2 Science Diet cat food coupons for $3.00 off each. I'd be happy to send them to you. Just email me jenniferhelene20@yahoo.com.

WX247, don't get behind me at the grocery store, LOL.

I cannot say enough good things about using coupons. It really helps out by allowing me to be a stay-at-home mom. That alone is reason enough for me to use them. Happy saving everyone.

Mrschad... I actually I have one lady in mind when I was typing that. I have gotten behind her several times and she demands that she be able to see her discount for each item before she pays so it makes a 5 minute process 15. Coupons are good things... she just takes it to an extreme.

It seems to me that coupons are for overpriced national brands that I wouldn't buy anyway. There are only a few things that I won't compromise on, like cleaning productes, becaues the store brands and generics are clearly inferior. Otherwise I buy store brands, generic items, and yes, I hit the dollar store. My favorite store has a shoppers club and offers unadvertised discounts on just about anything. I usually save about 5% with that. Our food budget is $800/month, including cleaning supplies, paper products, and pet supplies. Our boys have BIG appetites.

Why not use them?? IF you had a dollar bill you would use that to buy groceries right?? Well look at your coupons as dollar bills, because that is exactly what the are... Might not have good old Washingtons face on them, but they are money.. Plain and simple.

Thats just my two cents.. Or should I say My 2 cents off.. LOL what a dork

We're great at clipping them, pretty good at keeping them, fair at remembering them, and very poor at taking them when we shop.

We need a recording in our house that says..."I should have remembered that coupon. Why didn't you tell me we were going to stop here today!!!!"

"LOL@azskyman!" Funny....we've gone to the store, pick up an item we KNOW we have coupons for, Michelle asks me, "Did you bring the coupons?" No.....I thought YOU did  I know some stores "IF" you save the reciept, will refund you the coupon amount if you take it back in.

50 cents off a $4.00 box of Lucky Charms vs. house brand "Marshmallow Adventure" or whatever its called for $2.50. Same size and it gets ate just as fast. The best part is that the house brands don't have those stupid little toys that my 4 boys would fight over. (I have on occasion bought 4 identical boxes of name brand cereal.)

If you have to have Lucky Charms, then, yes coupons would make sense.

That is exactly the way I see it. I also go to our Family Dollar store every Saturday morning because it is double coupon day. I mainly buy cleaning supplies, washing powder and stuff like that. I bought about 40 dollars worth of supplies and after all the coupons, the total was a little under ten bucks. ;)

Yikes, I'll say that's savings... 45% off using coupons!

My parents and me get a Sunday paper, I don't believe it has many coupons in it, but I am aware that we are using them, so... :)

We got the Orlando Sentinel, that we got at a special discount price for a year.

And some of those items are buy one get one free Tom. I gotta have my coupons. My Mother taught me the trick of the trade. lol.

There was a lady in front of me that had about 20 bucks worth of stuff. When she got through with the coupons she only had to pay 57 cents. That is correct 57 cents!!! The cashier told her "You did good Miss Lady" lol.
