I did it!
I finally escaped Fort Drum! I am flying home to KY this morning, having already left Drum for the final time. No more -30F North Country mornings for me, no more waking up to 3 feet of fresh Lake Effect Snow! I will only have dial up when I'm at the house, so don't be surprised if I don't post quite as much as I do now.
With that said, I would like to thank everyone who has supported me on here over the last 4 and a half years! Seems just like yesterday I was in Iraq and posting about dust storms here

Tim, once again, thank you for your service!! Hope your return to civilian life is smooth. It doesn't seem like it has been 4.5 years to me. Probably seems like a decade to you.

Thanks, y'all! It still feels kinda surreal, sitting in Charlotte, currently. I feel like I'm on an early block leave and I have to go back in a couple weeks even though I know I'm done. And yes, some of it does feel like it was a lifetime ago!

Yeah! Home for you looks mighty good right now doesn't it? Congratulations on going home. Thank you for your service. My youngest son is still serving , currently over in the Middle East near Saudia Arabia aboard a destroyer.

And they do have a Wal-Mart now, finally! Pretty sad when half the high school skips class to go to the grand opening of Wal-Mart
That is pretty sad but it is a nice Walmart, alot better than the one in New Bern.
