Your probably gonna think I'm nutz

BUT.....autumn has fallen here in the White Mountains :o I cannot believe all the signs of an early and cold autumn already....the Burning Bush's have started turning FIRE RED, the Virginia Creepers are turning red, at the driving range yesterday, saw HUNDREDS of catepillars (wooly worms) all over the place, we even have Canadian Geese flying over

I don't quite understand THAT one, we are not in the flight path of these geese but yet.....they're here! But the BIGGEST sign I've seen........Walgreens has their Halloween displays up with ALL the candy "LOL!"
Anyone else seeing signs like this or "AM" I nutz

?

No you are not nutz. Even here in the deep south I am seeing signs of autumn. The pecan trees are starting to change their color. This usually does not happen until late September. The Live Oaks are starting to look thin as well. I know they are not looking thin because of the lack of rainfall either. My Rose of Sharon is looking thin too.

Yes, autumn is definitely on the way. Several trees on my lawn that did not have their leaves change color until mid-September last year are just beginning to do so now. About 2 to 3 weeks ahead of schedule. IMO, definitely a sign of a cold autumn (and probably a cold winter too).

I think you had brought up this a few weeks ago about what signs we all see when fall is on its way. The one thing that I have noticed in the past are the spiderwebs that are made before the trees turn. WELL, they are starting to come out in full force already! The temps next week are supposed to be about 80.

Well, I have seen some Halloween candy, but the weather here sure hasn't given any signs of fall! I might be saying different come tomorrow, when we finally get a break from the heat!

I can't wait for fall though! It is absolutely my FAV time of the year!

I've noticed signs of Fall here too...a couple of days ago I went on a seaplane ride in the Adirondacks...its amazing how many trees have already turned! You see a few on the ground, but in the air, you can see for miles, ans there were countless trees that had already started turning. I took some snapshots...maybe once they get developed I can post them and show you all what I am talking about.

You're right Dennis. We have many signs of fall here in the Burgh too. Leaves changing, birds flocking and Christmas and Halloween stuff in the stores!!!
What the heck are you doing at the driving range?Have you had your checkup at the doctors?? Take care my friend.

I LOVE this time O' year.....the tourists are starting to thin out, the driving range is virtually empty except on weekends now and the "cool air!" There's a house just up the road a piece with a chainlink fence lined with Virginia Creepers, they have at least 60 vines growing around the whole property......every single one, within the past 2 days have turned RED! I was sitting outside on the patio yesterday evening, heard this noise, looked up and there were 2 HUGE flocks of ducks, about 12,000' up in the sky, heading south!
