Hey Everyone!!

In recent weeks, I was elected the North Florida AMS local chapter president, and I have begun thinking about the AMS National Conference next year, which is in NOLA on January 22nd through 26th. I have been talking to Anthony (Category5), who is on the eboard of the AMS chapter at Rutgers. We are both planning on being at the conference, and want to open up the possibility of having a mini get-together at the AMS national meeting. I know its a long way out, but the time is now to start planning if you want to attend. Just time to start thinking about it.

Unfortunately, the AMS has not posted a whole lot of information on the next Annual Meeting, but here is the webpage for the meeting information:

Also, if any of you are in North Florida, S GA, or S AL and would like to join the North Florida chapter of the AMS, please let me know. If you want information on the Rutgers chapter of the AMS, let Anthony know.

Is anyone else a member of a local chapter of the AMS or a national member?

I just got onto our Eboard as Media Forecaster. Our chapter will probably bring down a dozen or so students (hopefully more). But yeah I think a little get together would be kinda cool. And like Fact said for information on our chapters feel free to contact one of us.

I think I could do that....I have vacation time BUT im not sure about others........thats a nice length of time not sure if a lot of people could take that much time off work like that but the idea at least sounds good! I wish our local chapter would have more meetings..........the DOW truck was the only meeting I know of and the next one, is the one I wanted to join I have my dues ready to be paid and all
