In this fast pace world we live in, just curious, how many here still write letters to loved ones, friends?? To be honest, I haven't written a letter in EONS, I *think* the last letter I wrote to anyone was when I was still overseas on the USS America (circa 1978), it was to my mother! The ONLY time I use a pen anymore is when I write out "BILLS" :grr:

Not everyone we know has a computer...USPS or E-mails serve us well, depending on the recipient.

I keep in touch with friends and relatives via e-mail. I do pay bills on occassion through the internet, but I still pay them mostly by check.

I do a little of both. It really depends on the person and their situation. I usually always send cards (thank you's and birthday) through the mail. They mean more to me than a birthday e-mail. Maybe because it is tangible.

Use e-mail and telephone. Also send cards with notes or photos now and then. Snail mail hasn't been used for much in the way of letters except for a few overseas communications a year.

I have no-one to write letters to, therefore I use email. :)

email. We even got rid of our long distance phone service. I pay most bills in cash, in person, or at the grocery store, which has an electronic link to the electric co, the gas co. and the phone co.

I also do some shopping by mail, as I don't like using the Web (too much personal information is asked for); and, of course, the odd artwork here and there, requiring a mailing tube and a litlle more $$ to send it out.

I forgot about birthday cards! Those I always send through snail mail, but I like to supplement them on occassion with an e-mail card.

I also shop online too, though I still hit the stores and malls. I find I go through cycles with my shopping - I probably stop the shopping sprees when the credit card bill come in! :o

I usually mail my friends and family...all three of my sisters have PC's, as do several of my aunts and cousins in Tennessee and Virginia. Of course, I always call dad....twice a day usually (have to discuss the latest bonehead decision by Bobby Cox or Falcon injury man to man :D

I pay my bills by check). I do call Becky long-distance on occasion....emails just can't replace hearing hers and Maddie's sweet voices over the phone :) :)

I was never fond of writing to people. I would only write to family members if I did, as was the case when my brother (the one whose apartment I am at now) when he was at graduate school before (March 1, 1999) I had daily internet access. I used to print a letter to him once a week, normally on Monday.

No offense at all, but I feel more comfortable using the internet, however when it comes to e-mailing people, I generally don't have anything to send... so I correspond with those family members that have AIM, when they are actually on AOL. I appreciate corresponding with my online friends, which are AOL/AIM more often. :)

I haven't had a good shopping spree in a long time. The best we did was school clothes shopping at Walmart. (paid cash) I actually lived through the experience.

Ya know.......I was just wondering, have kids nowwa days lost the ability to communicate through the written language?? Please.....I know we have quite a few younger folks on this board, take no offense to that statement but seriously, I can remember growing up, my mother would INSIST that I write my aunts, uncles letters at LEAST once a month, I had to tell them how things were, what I was doing, how my grades were etc.

I should talk I guess "LOL!" Like I said, I haven't sent ANYONE a hand written letter in AGES, my penmanship (sp) and my SPELLING "LOL!" leaves a little bit to be desired!
