Maria DeRosa (I think that's how her last name is spelled) was a met on Philadelphia's Eyewitness News Channel 3. She was very good and has a great personality. I don't know if she's originally from the Philadelphia area, but Jen Carfagno is, so I'm sure that they have a lot in common. She has a couple of children.

One thing that always bothered me was the abrupt departure of Jeanetta Jones in 2006.

I figured maybe she retired or something. Sadly, this article from 2009 shows it was for an entirely different reason. :(

Thanks - I wanted to post this topic for a few weeks because Jeff Morrow and Bill Keneely have suddenly disappeared after many years at TWC, as well as one or two female OCM's that have been there for at least 5 years (their names escape me at the moment)...

Oh wow! That really is sad. I wish her all of the best. :(

Jeff Morrow and Bill Keneely were good. It's ashame that they let a lot of the good ones go.

Bill Keneely was the last of the on-air meteorologists who had been with the TWC since its beginning in 1982.

I agree - a few of the people on there now, well, they're just not weather people but are people reading whatever is on the teleprompter (or whatever the producer is telling them in their earpiece)...

Perhaps they'd be good working for a large hotel, and some seem like they'd be better in a fashion magazine, but they're not weather people as were the original employees of TWC in 1982...

Oh, well - that's the 21st Century for you...

I can't even watch TWC anymore. Their coverage during Alex was laughable and I'm being kind because my true thoughts on it would get me at least suspended if not banned. Cantore and Knaab look miserable (they have reason to be), and they make Knaab talk like he's teaching a kindergarten class.

He probably misses the NHC about now.

True, it wasn't very good (granted Alex was mostly south of the border and inaccessible to them for security reasons), and this morning wasn't much better because NBC's aim was off - they had Jim Cantore in North Miami Beach and Stephanie Abrams in Key West - though both would have been better reporting from Key Biscayne and Biscayne National Park (just east of Homestead)...

It's a mess - oh, by the way Comcast (dunces though they are), now have a TWC Channel all their own (to compete with the leftover but on autopilot NBC WeatherPlus channel that still operates), with a loop of the local TWC forecast, radar/satellite, and even some fairly good "weather channel-type music" (except it's a female voice that says, "Your local radar"), so I've been watching that more than the real-life fanfare on TWC - those hyper ladies are just too much that early in the morning (sorry)...

Well, someone at TWC must have read this topic (lol), because over the past weekend Jeff Morrow appeared several times, so apparently a few of the original TWC OCM'ers are still available for on-air duties...

Good to see a familiar face at least once in awhile...

I think they talk more about the oil spill than they do about weather

Have loved Vivian Brown since 2004 when she proved 'aware' that there were people down here in the islands watching TWC and worrying about storms. The others acted like we weren't here. But then, became a fan of her calm, no-exaggeration, all-business demeanor. She's a class act, and I wrote TWC twice to tell them so!

She is good in bad situations unlike certain other women meteorologist who are far to hyper for early in the morning. But one thing I noticed when there was a flood warning one time is she said. "if you will" so many times. Seriously out of 1 hr of watching Pm Edition she must have said that over 20 times. I do like how she does like the "OK........" when Nick walker says somthing dumb. And she doesnt do dumb puns like "one HAIL of a storm!" or some other thing dumb thing.
