*edited to take "seriously" out of the title as was originally reported - although media outlets are still reporting he's in serious condition

Sounds like they are saying just injured and not serious. That link has been updated. It says he's being treated for facial lacerations.

Alcohol didn't play a role, but charges are pending? hmmm
ESPN News is still reporting that he is in serious condition. Maybe just behind... I don't know.

I guess we have to wait a little bit for more concrete information. If its serious, then the game of golf will suffer a huge blow.

Apparently on CNBC his agent said he is fine and was released from the hospital.
Its becoming clear (especially after Fort Hood) that you can never trust the initial reports of a situation. There is such an importance on speed that accuracy has become a joke.

Very true.

And then I gasp at the news that I saw just as I was about to get on s2k, so I post it, thinking he's in pretty bad shape. I'm so happy to hear that it's not serious as first indicated, but geesh... get it right before reporting.

I haven't looked at anything about it for a while, but what they said on nightly news was that he was found on the ground outside his truck going in and our of consciousness, so who knows what the real story is?? I'm not sure if we know any of the real story even at this point. Leaving his driveway at 2:30 am and running into a fh in your yard and then hitting a tree hard enough to make him semiconscious????

Thank God it's not serious....Can he still play? Any permanent injuries that can prevent him from playing golf?

Here is the latest from ESPN.The story gets more bizzare with the below.
http://sports.espn.go.com/golf/news/story?id=4693657Tiger Woods was injured early Friday when he lost control of his SUV outside his Florida mansion, and a local police chief said Woods' wife used a golf club to smash out the back window to help get him out.
The world's No. 1 golfer was treated and released from a hospital in good condition, his spokesman said. The Florida Highway Patrol said Woods' vehicle hit a fire hydrant and a tree in his neighbor's yard after he pulled out of his driveway at 2:25 a.m.
Windermere police chief Daniel Saylor told The Associated Press that officers found the 33-year-old PGA star laying in the street with his wife, Elin, hovering over him.
She told officers she was in the house when she heard the accident and "came out and broke the back window with a golf club," he said. "She supposedly got him out and laid him on the ground. He was in and out of consciousness when my guys got there."
He said Woods had lacerations to his upper and lower lips, and blood in his mouth; officers treated Woods for 10 minutes until an ambulance arrived.

They say alcohol wasnt invloved but i mean you hit a fire hydrant right next door. HOPEFULLY it wasnt drugs. WHAT would that do to golf.

everyone has accidents at some stage or the other.
well most everyone.
the good thing here is that he didnt hurt anyone...and also he wasn't more seriously hurt.
But thats where this news story should end.
he should be made to pay the city back for fixing the fire hydrant, for sure. Other than that, the only other damage is to his property (his car)
hes not a criminal, the media almost wants to "CRIMINALIZE" him ( not sure thats really a word)

There's gossip (per the Star Magazine) that he may be having an affair with some brunette. Maybe Elin was going after him with the golf club??

Hmmmm....

Seriously...why would you break the very back glass? You know how far of a crawl that is to the front (over broken glass, add you!)? Just break out the side door he isnt sitting on and unlock/open it so you can get to the unlock button...then you arent trying to crawl over all this broken glass.

IF this was me I would be hauled of to jail for this. I don't care who he is! They should haul him off to jail for contemt! His true color are comming out. Way to tarnish Golf Tiger! just my feelings on it.

Hauled to jail for what? He isn't even
required to speak to them. However, I'm sure he will. He was just treated and released from the hospital on Friday and this article was written on Saturday. Give him a break. He hasn't tarnished golf.
