EU bans use of 'Miss' and 'Mrs' (and sportsmen and statesmen) because it claims they are sexistUsing 'Miss' and 'Mrs' has been banned by leaders of the European Union because they are not considered politically correct.
Brussels bureaucrats have decided the words are sexist and issued new guidelines in its bid to create 'gender-neutral' language.
The booklet warns European politicians they must avoid referring to a woman's marital status.
This also means Madame and Mademoiselle, Frau and Fraulein and Senora and Senorita are banned.

HAHA!!! Thats VERY dumb! I agree with Derek, are there no other things to ban? They should have much more on the agenda to talk about than that!

This is silly. They aren't going to get people to stop speaking their own languages correctly and they should be doing something more responsible with their time.

How are you supposed to greet people properly then, if the words are not politically correct...are they going to ban Mr. and Senor too?

Perhaps people will now wake up and see that all this "political correctness" nonsense has gone way too far. Sometimes we just need to speak our minds and stop worrying so much about who we might offend.
Dr. Ben Carson (a noted pediatric neurosurgeon), in his book "The Big Picture", speaks to the issue quite well in a section of Chapter 10 entitled "When being politically correct conflicts with our principles".

I think they were thinking, "what can we do to divert the attention from the economic problems to something stupid." Someone jumped and said, "lets ban Miss and Mrs."

Exactly. It's absolutely absurd! I will say what I want to say... I'm not going to walk on eggshells to appease a bunch of nutcases. PC blows.

People look back in history and wish that they could have lived during the peak of Greek or Roman civilization before they declined. We have certainly been fortunate to have lived during the peak of the European/American civilization. Let the decline begin!

Nice to see the part of my taxes which end up going to Brussels aren't being wasted...
