Graeter's Ice Cream

Graeter's is a local, extremely popular ice cream establishment here in Cincinnati (founded in 1870!).

Not anymore.......soon many areas of the country will be selling Graeter's ice cream in their local grocery stores. Especially if you live in the Houston area (uh hem David and Jen Bayles, LOL), look for it to arrive at your local Kroger stores.....

Anyway, why am I sharing this random bit of news from my daily newspaper? Because a while back Graeter's decided to try a seasonal flavor, black raspberry chip, and absolutely struck gold when they did. It is their most popular flavor! So I'm giving you the nudge, should you suddenly see this brand of ice cream for sale at your grocery store, try something new - be daring, buy a pint of black raspberry chip! You won't be sorry if you do. OMG - it's to die for!

Thanks for the "heads up", Miss Mary. I'm an ice cream fanatic and should Graeter ever go international and appear in Barbados' supermarkets, I'll know which flavor to try first!

abajan - I just checked but Graeter's only ships within the US. Darn it! You could have tried it (but minimum shipping amounts are 6 pints and it's very pricey......). So in a way you're saving yourself money.......

I just wanted to mention that this odd purple looking flavor of ice cream - black raspberry chip - is something that some people wouldn't even bother to try. My late MIL (may she rest in peace, wonderful lady.....) is the one that twisted my arm to try it. I was skeptical - boring me, I was used to Strawberry....LOL!!!! But once I tried it, oh my gosh, I never went back to Strawberry!
