Next year in Rio

Probably not. In 2000, pure luck, I wasn't arrested for public intoxication, the final Saturday of Carnival. in the Vieux Carre, on Bourbon, the street about an inch deep of a foul liquid, spilled beer, dropped cocktails and food, and who knows what else. I washed the sneakers when I got home, but never got them fully clean.

Anyway, much less likely to be freezing cold in Rio de Janiero during Carnival...

We had a cream cheese King Cake delivered to the office on Friday.

Galveston has an imitation Mardi Gras they have been doing for about a decade, and this year, I get the impression it is sort of our patriotic duty to go to help revive the business district that got destroyed last Summer.

Ike-damaged Galveston goes on with Mardi Gras fest

I still suspect the weather is warmer in Rio...

Thanks! I had a great time! It's so fun to see families out with their kids lining the streets. I would catch beads and give them to some of the kids around me. Some of the kids are afraid of the bead catching frenzy but they soon outgrow that  My poor son...today was his 25th birthday and he had to work. Ah, the life of an accountant in tax season.
