My Modem Won't Hang Up

Anyone here familiar with FaxTalk Communicator SE 4.7 software? It came bundled with my Hiro V.92 56K USB modem and works pretty well. My only problem is that when a caller leaves a voice message and hangs up, the modem keeps recording until 15 seconds are up. That is the maximum time I have set for voice messages but that doesn't mean I want the modem to go on recording for 15 seconds each time! 
I can't find any settings in the software like "Hang up at conclusion of message" or anything like that.
