Women to shed clothes, shower in public, in support of PETA

Two women will shed their clothes Friday afternoon and shower in public in downtown Beaumont, in support of PETA's belief consumers should become vegetarians to help the environment.
The tour is continuing on its road show after a similar display at the Alamo on Wednesday. (Find that Video Here)
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals says the meat industry wastes water and creates a large amount of greenhouse gases, and the organization is inviting the public and media to an event it says will help expose the scope of the problem.
PETA's news release states:

Meat Industry Wastes Water, Creates Greenhouse Gases
What: Naked behind a banner that reads, "1 lb. of Meat = 6 Months of Showers," two PETA beauties will shower together in a busy Beaumont location to let consumers know that the best thing that they can do for the environment is to go vegetarian.
U.N. scientists have determined that raising animals for food generates more greenhouse-gas emissions than all the cars, SUVs, trucks, and planes in the world combined. Researchers at the University of Chicago determined that switching to a vegan diet is more effective in countering climate change than switching from a standard car to a Toyota Prius.
"It's impossible to 'go green' without going vegetarian," says PETA beauty Colleen Higgins. "Just by changing their diets, concerned people can help protect the Earth, their own health, and countless animals."
Where: The intersection of Main and Crockett streets, Beaumont
When: Friday, February 6, 1 p.m.
Beaumont Police say as long as the women don't incite a riot, disturb the peace, or take off all of their clothing and engage in disorderly conduct, they'll stay within the boundaries of the law.
