Interior residents notice an invasion of ptarmigan

I'd prefer them to Canada fecal bird...err, Geese.

They are, especially in winter.

They're dove-like, though I'm sure much bigger.

Ptarmigans are about the size of a pigeon. They are grouses and related to pheasant and turkey.
