Our grandson, Dylan Warren Erickson, arrived yesterday, January 2, at 1:05 p.m., via an astonishingly brief natural labor and delivery, weighing 8 pounds 3 ounces and measuring 21 inches. First-time mommy, daddy, Grampie Kurt, and Grammie Diane are all doing well. Kurt and I were privileged to be at the hospital when Dylan was born and met him right away! We are staying at their home to dog-sit, do laundry, grocery shop, and run errands until the new family comes home Sunday.

I may be biased, but Dylan is the most beautiful baby ever born. :D :D

I truly believe that the prayers from my S2K family during my daughter's double high-risk pregnancy strongly affected this second miracle in two weeks for me and my family. I am so grateful to you all!

Love,
Grammie Diane

CONGRATULATIONS Diane on becoming a Grammie and CONGRATULATIONS to the Ericksons on their first born!!!

Our 1st Grandchild is due March 2 but the doctor says our daughter will be lucky to go full term so we are expecting a call sometime in mid February that they are on the way to the hospital. They live here in town and the hospital is a hop, skip and a jump form the house so we will be around to meet our first Grandchild too.

Congratulations! Let the spoiling begin. :D

I'm so glad everything has turned out so well. I can't see him very well in the pic, but you sure look like a proud Grammie! Enjoy the latest arrival in your family.

Nothing quite like being a grandparent! Three for us already, and seems like only yesterday we were parents of our own small family. Glad all are well, and enjoy the time together and every new discovery he makes!!

Congrats grammie deebee! I'm so glad to read that little dylan has made his appearance. And your prayers were answered after the scare in early december. The doctor was hoping for 2 more weeks in the womb and dylan stayed for a month! Enjoy spoiling him to your hearts content and we'll be looking forward to seeing pics of him as he grows.

I agree with Poppysky, there's nothing like being a grandparent.

Diane, you're going to have a ball. I can see that sparkle in your eye as you hold that little bundle of joy. I'm so excited for you and your family. ((HUGS)) and best wishes to all.

Thank you all so much! Being a grammie is absolutely wonderful.

At 12 days old, Dylan now weighs in at 9 lbs. 5 oz. and measures 22 + 3/4 inches. Obviously, breastfeeding agrees with him. :D At this stage, his forehead-hairline look more like his dad, and his eyes and nose look like his mom. But his chin is pure grampie, complete with the little bottom cleft, as well as the slight dimple in his right cheek.

Grampie and I will be babysitting this Friday evening for 2 hours so mommy and daddy can go out for dinner. The more time I can spend with him, the better -- he's a real snuggle-bunny, and when he's sleeping on my chest or in my arms, that aura of pure serenity is the best stroke therapy ever (even my doctor agrees! ).
