I don't speak Italian (or is it Portuguese?), but I'm not sure the injured dog survived.

Hard to say, it didn't look good for the hurt animal. This is what often separates dogs from humans-dogs are very loyal to their companions (animal and human) and will do to help whereas in many instances people will just walk around an injured person or not help someone in trouble. Perfect example-last Friday in that NY Walmart. For caring friendship and loyalty, give me a dog everytime.

Amen to that!

I can't/won't watch the video. I'm not surprised that this happened and I'll leave my imagination to visualize the story. It'll be too heart breaking for me.

True. A ptarmigan, especially willow ptarmigan male, will fiercely protects its babies from predators, which they could end up being a predator's meal. The babies are really cute.
