Would you drive 650 miles to see Hillary Clinton?

#1 Postby JetMaxx » Mon Aug 11, 2003 11:19 am

I think I'm gonna be sick....Hillary "Rod-HAM" is in Atlanta today, signing copies of her book (which I'd throw back if given :D -- and believe it or not, there are hundreds of idiots lined up outside a Barnes & Noble bookstore waiting to see "her majesty" :D and get their book autographed ....

If that isn't scary enough, they just interviewed two clueless loons that drove all night to get here and see Hillary...all the way from West Palm Beach, Florida..

Would you drive 650 miles to meet Hillary Clinton and get her autograph?? I wouldn't walk across the street to see her; in fact, if she came to my home....I'd lock the doors and hide under my bed :o :o :o :o :D

I got to thinking...why in the world would anybody be stupid enough to drive that far when all you have to do is have a little patience and as sure as the sun rises...she will be at a book signing near you soon. After all...that's all she does these days.

I would!! I love travelling...even if it is to see Hillary. It's a very small price to pay to do something I love.

georgia tends to be a more democrat/liberal state. no offense to georgians. now, if hambone were to come to ms to promote her book, she would only receive boo's and rocks.

I would like to travel somewhere eventually; but certainly not to see Hillary Rodham Clinton... one thing is seeing a celebrity, but not her.

Maybe I will get the chance some day when I am with my brother and sister-in-law, even then they don't have the financial means now (but again maybe someday).

As a few of you know, I haven't been out of the eastern time zone yet.

Wow, Mike! You wouldn't even go 3,432 feet from where you are not to see Hillary?

Well, while I am not particularly fond of Mrs. Clinton, I probably would drive (but not 650 miles) to see her and have her personally sign a copy of her book. It might be worth something someday.

It would be an adventure to see anyone so many miles away, after spending the little time to see someone you don't care for (in terms of views).

You can then spend the majority of the time sightseeing, knowing that you spent a large percentage of time doing other things. :D

:P :P Stormsfury you took my line!

I heard that there are rules at these book signings.
1. You have to buy the book at the signing.
2. You are not allowed to talk to her. Not even Hi!

What a crock!

According to the Atlanta evening news, Hillary arrived LATE; and only signed books for about an hour...infuriating many of the hundreds in line stretched outside in the hot sun who were turned away without meeting Hillary -- some of whom had driven hundreds of miles to meet her; as well as some who'd SPENT THE NIGHT camped in front of the book store to see her. :o :o

I wouldn't drive 65 feet to see her! Well if she upset a lot of people maybe there are a couple of more realists now! :-)

Ed, could you make that a little clearer? ;-)

I have an idea. Enlist a young person who is savvy enough to realize what is going on, thoroughly coach her and have her wear ratty clothes and get in line with just a scrap of paper for Hillary's autograph. I'd expect her "handlers" to turn her away. She would plead that she is a poor disadvantaged person who can't afford the book, but admires her, and was hoping for a memento. If she still gets turned away, make a big stink about it. That should create a good amount of negative press for her.
