2.18 the lowest in my zip code, but I heard Cosco and Sams have it for 2.09!!!!!
Unbelievable, I never thought it would get this low again, almost under 2 dollars.
With a large conversion van I am doing the happy dance.

Gas is down to 1.849 just down the block from us. I too figured those days were long gone.

If crude stays below $70 a barrel between now and December 3......we get a fuel supplement refund on our scheduled cruise into the Caribbean. That's an additional savings of $90 on a cruise that was already dirt cheap......5 days at $249 each.....an outside stateroom at that!!!

Nobody seems to care when millions of American oil field workers lose their jobs, and many US wells are plugged permanently because they are no longer profitable.
It does mean the next run up in prices will be even steeper because domestic supplies will be even lower.

didn't that occur last time when oil prices fell to about $9 a barrel?
That was too low in late 1998 and nearly deflated our economy. But the wells were long profitable at 35. Why would that be different this time?

Prices have gone up for everything in the oilfield in the last few years. Oil companies that produce in the US were barely getting by at $30, they couldn't now.
The big integrated operators buy most of their oil from the state oil companies in the Middle East or Venezuela, and make a fair amount of their profit off refining and marketing.

Because even with all the new technologies available, those older wells can only be pushed so far before it is no longer profitable to work them. I know because some of our wells have been shut down since then due to that factor.
