"Show Me The Way" was the first song my wife and I danced to at our wedding reception. It has a very special meaning to us.
Here's a few lines from "Learning To Fly" by Pink Floyd (from the 1987 album "A Momentary Lapse of Reason"). Excellent song!

I just watched Pearl Harbor last night
This song really makes me cry but I love the words
There You'll Be /Faith Hill
When I think back on these times
and the dreams we left behind
I'll be glad cause I was
blessed to get to have you in my life.
When I look back on these days
I'll look and see your face.
You were right there for me.
In my dreams, I'll always see you soar above the sky.
In my heart, there will always be a place for you.
For all my life
I'll keep a part of you with me.
and everywhere I am, there you'll be.
and everywhere I am, there you'll be.
Well you showed me how to feel,
feel the sky was in my reach.
and I always will remember
all the strength you gave to me.
Your love made me make it through.
oh, I owe so much to you.
You were right there for me.
In my dreams, I'll always see you soar above the sky.
In my heart, there will always be a place for you.
For all my life
I'll keep a part of you with me.
and everywhere I am, there you'll be.
Cause I always saw in you my light, my strength.
and I want to thank you now
For all the ways,
You were right there for me,
You were right there for me,
You were right there for me
For always.......
In my dreams, I'll always see you soar above the sky.

I've been listening to/humming this one for days...
Linkin Park "In The End"
(It starts with)
One thing / I don’t know why
It doesn’t even matter how hard you try
Keep that in mind / I designed this rhyme
To explain in due time
All I know
time is a valuable thing
Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings
Watch it count down to the end of the day
The clock ticks life away
It’s so unreal
Didn’t look out below
Watch the time go right out the window
Trying to hold on / but didn’t even know
Wasted it all just to
Watch you go
I kept everything inside and even though I tried / it all fell apart
What it meant to me / will eventually / be a memory / of a time when I tried
so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn't even matter
I had to fall
To lose it all
But in the end
It doesn't even matter
One thing / I don’t know why
It doesn’t even matter how hard you try
Keep that in mind / I designed this rhyme
To remind myself how
I tried so hard
In spite of the way you were mocking me
Acting like I was part of your property
Remembering all the times you fought with me
I’m surprised it got so (far)
Things aren’t the way they were before
You wouldn’t even recognize me anymore
Not that you knew me back then
But it all comes back to me
In the end
You kept everything inside and even though I tried / it all fell apart
What it meant to me / will eventually / be a memory / of a time when I
I tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn’t even matter
I had to fall
To lose it all
But in the end
It doesn’t even matter
I’ve put my trust in you
Pushed as far as I can go
And for all this
There’s only one thing you should know
I’ve put my trust in you
Pushed as far as I can go
And for all this
There’s only one thing you should know
I tried so hard
And got so far

It's sad that Maurice is no longer with us.
It is very sad indeed.
"I started a joke that left the whole world laughing,
but I didn't see,
that the joke was on me"
"I Started a Joke" - the Bee Gees
I think that Robin Gibb has the best voice out of the three, though Barry is the most popular. Robin's voice shines in this song.
"I Started a Joke" is one of my favs from them. They had so many good ones back then. I also liked "Love so Right", "Run to Me", "Words", "Nights on Broadway", "Fanny"....I could go on and on lol. Suffice it to say, once in a blue moon I'll drag out my old LP's. Of course, I get strange looks from my kids. Believe it or not, my 17 yr old kinda likes their music, tho.
You're right. Robin has a great voice. I think one reason Barry was so popular was the ladies thought he was a looker. One girl I went to school with was always talking about how handsome she thought Barry was LOL.
The last time I saw them on TV, he looked old. But then again, I guess he is getting on up there like me.
Funny how sometimes a song can bring back memories of childhood, isn't it? Sometimes when I drag the old albums out, I can't help but get a little sentimental and think about things that happened when I was a kid. OHHHH to be able to go back to that time (sometimes) when things were much more simple!!
The BeeGees put out some great music (pre-disco, imo). I think their best song was "New York Mining Disaster". Makes me all teary.
"In the event of something happening to me,
there is something I would like you all to see,
it's just a photograph of someone that I knew,
Have you seen my wife, Mr. Jones,
do you know what it's like on the outside,
don't go talking too loud you'll cause a landslide,
Mr. Jones."

Oh yeah Steph, don't get me started on Floyd.
"Mother" from "The Wall" ...
Mama's gonna keep you right here under her wing,
She won't let you fly, but she might let you sing.

That song from Faith Hill is beautiful Karan.
Jeremy - I never heard that song - but then again, I listen to mostly "oldies"
- Where is that thread "A sign that you're getting older?"
"New York Mining Disaster" is another one that gets me teary eyed also!
I love "Mother" - Pink Floyd in general!
Um, Dennis, never heard that one!
"There's a lady who knows,
All that glitters is gold,
And she's buying a stairway to heaven".
"Stairway to Heaven" - Led Zeplin.

I have a blast singing that one (and yes, I usually do both vocalists parts).

I know, I had an absolute blast singing it with my brothers here at home last Friday night...we interpreted it as if it were Christian type music, but there are different ways to look at a song IMO...BTW maybe you and I could get together and sing this one!

Well we all have our tastes; personally, I'm a Christian music fan, as well as anything by Huey Lewis (Ghostwolf could tell ya that), and I like some rock as well.

A little darkness...
This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end
It hurts to set you free
But you'll never follow me
The end of laughter and soft lies
The end of nights we tried to die
The Doors
The End
