China was the reason the Korean war came to an impasse, and a far more powerful China today is the reason no progress is made in bringing down the last full-blown Stalinist state (and full-blown kleptocracy and unbridled peddler of WMD technology to boot.)
Invading North Korea will be a real mess. They are capable of using WMDs in war. South Korea has conscription and they do not look too kindly to draft dodgers there. Anyone with Korean blood, can be drafted into the South Korean military if they stay in Korea for a certain amount of time. It has happened before. If I was to stay in Korea for at least a few months, I can be drafted because I am Korean, even though I was born in America.
