Some of NBC's new shows sound interesting. I am especially curious about Day One.

:roflmao:

Did you notice Deal or No Deal is not mentioned once? I remember the past two or three seasons where it was about the only thing mentioned. :P

BTW: Nielsen sucks. For the 2nd day in a row they are having major problems and there have been no ratings since Saturday in the middle of May sweeps(when several shows fates are being decided based on these ratings). This is not the 1st time this has happened. We desperately need a new TV ratings system. In addition to being slow and unreliable it's outdated with all the new ways to watch TV now.

We're still watching Out of the Wild: Alaska Experiment. Original group of 9 is down to 5 now. 4 have opted out. Every 3 or 4 days the group hikes to a new "camp". 2 camps ago they were rewarded with a pretty nice cabin with thatch roof. You could tell they didn't want to leave it. But they had to push on. Next camp turned out to be an old plane that previous campers have carved out a dugout on one side. They were very, very cold, lows went down to single digits.

Interesting show - Survivor without all the drama, Jeff Probst, immunity challenges/rewards, etc. No prize at the end other than personal satisfaction that you made it to the end.

It airs on the Discovery Channel.

Some ratings info for Sunday and Monday(finally!):

Pretty normal night on Sunday, Sit Down, Shut Up epically bombed at 7pm with only 2 million viewers and a 0.8 demo(major ouch). Rest of FOX was decent. CBS was the usual solid but old skewing numbers. EM: HE did bad, while DH dominated but remains at series lows on ABC and B&S did pretty good. Dateline did awful while The Apprentice did okay.

Monday, notable that is not included, Deal or No Deal had it's worst ratings ever!

ABC averaged a 10.7 rating/17 share on Monday night. CBS took second with a 7.4/12, followed by FOX at 6.5/10. NBC averaged 4.1/6 and The CW 1.5/2.

In the adults 18-49 demographic, ABC's 4.2 rating beat out CBS and FOX, which tied for second at 4.0. NBC, 1.9, came in fourth, and The CW scored a 1.1.

A two-hour "Dancing with the Stars" was the night's most-watched show, drawing a 12.6/19. CBS' "Two and a Half Men" (8.6/13) drew the night's best rating in the 18-49 demo with a 5.0.

Most of the other shows held in line with their recent performances -- although the extra-half hour of "Dancing" helped give "Castle" a bump. It drew a 6.6/11, up from 5.7/10 last week.

http://www.zap2it.com/tv/ratings/zap-tv ... 6786.story

Tuesday ratings: Everything surrounding DWTS on ABC was beyond dead. Scrubs, Ted, Cupid all have zero chance of coming back. CBS was very solid. FOX, Idol ruled while Fringe held less than 50% of the lead-in and was below 10 million, but had a good 3.8 demo. NBC was normal with The Biggest Loser and SVU both pretty good, especially for NBC standards. The CW was pathetic as usual.

Tonight: Grey's Anatomy's 100th episode! Plus new episodes of Survivor, CSI, Ugly Betty, the NBC comedies and Southland, Bones, Hell's Kitchen, and a Michael J. Fox special on ABC.

Finally, Nielsen has caught up:

TV ratings: 'American Idol' rocks Wednesday
FOX takes the rating and demo titles ... again

May 8, 2009

Fast National ratings for Wednesday, May 6, 2009.

Wednesday's ratings title and adult demo bragging rights went to FOX and its "American Idol" juggernaut. Not terribly surprising.

FOX averaged a 9.6 rating/15 share for the night, well ahead of second-place CBS' 7.3/12. NBC took third with a 4.2/7, just ahead of ABC's 4.0/7. The CW earned a 1.7/3.

In the adults 18-49 demographic, FOX's 5.5 smoked CBS' 2.9 and ABC's 2.6. In fourth place, NBC had a 1.6, while The CW had a 1.1.

"Lie to Me" earned a 5.4/9 for FOX at 8 p.m., while second place went to CBS' hour of "The New Adventures of Old Christine" and "Gary Unmarried" averaging a 4.4/8. "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" nabbed a 3.9/7 for NBC, followed by ABC's "Scrubs" season finale, 3.5/6, and The CW's "America's Next Top Model," 2.6/4.

"American Idol" at 9 p.m. gave FOX a 13.7/21 as one more person was booted to make a Final Three. CBS took second place with a 8.9/14 for "Criminal Minds," topping ABC's "Lost," 5.3/8 and a repeat of NBC's "Law & Order: SVU," 3.2/5. The CW trailed with a "90210" repeat.

"CSI: NY," 8.5/14, led at 10 p.m. for CBS, followed by a 5.5/9 for NBC's "Law & Order." "The Unusuals" dipped to 3.1/5 on ABC.

TV ratings: Viewers say 'I do' to 'Grey's Anatomy' Thursday
The ABC medical drama had the highest ratings and demo numbers, but CBS still took the night overall

May 8, 2009

Fast National ratings for Thursday, May 7, 2009

CBS just barely won the night in the ratings race overall, but the biggest number of the night went to ABC's 100th episode "Grey's Anatomy." Otherwise, the TV landscape looked the same as usual ratings-wise.

CBS averaged a 7.6 rating/13 share in primetime, just edging past ABC's 7.4/13. FOX came in third with a 4.7/8. NBC, 3.8/6, finished fourth, and The CW trailed with a 1.9/3.

The adults 18-49 demo crown went to ABC, which scored a 3.5 rating. CBS took second at 3.2. FOX had a 2.5, just ahead of NBC's 2.4, and The CW earned a 1.3.

"Survivor: Tocantins" kicked off the night for CBS in first place for 8 p.m. with a 7.0/12, while FOX's "Bones" had its usual strong showing with a 5.5/10. "Ugly Betty" drew a 4.9/9 for ABC, handily beating the 3.0/5 average for NBC's comedy double shot "My Name Is Earl" and "Parks and Recreation." The CW's "Smallville" came in last.

The 9 o'clock hour was a slightly different story with ABC pushing ahead with 10.2/16 for "Grey's Anatomy" and earning a hefty 5.3 in the adult demo. CBS' "CSI" grabbed a 9.1/14, while NBC's "The Office" and "30 Rock" hour averaged a 4.2/7 for third. Following was FOX's "Hell's Kitchen," 3.9/6, and The CW's "Supernatural," 1.8/3.

ABC continued to do well at 10 p.m. with the Michael J. Fox special, "Adventures of an Incurable Optimist," 7.1/12, beating CBS' "CSI" repeat, 6.6/11. NBC ended the night with "Southland's" 4.4/8 for the hour.

Desperate Housewives - a lot happened, leading up the finale. Surprised you haven't posted Brent! Can't quite tell what the shocker will be, but we did learn a lot tonight: Mike still loves Susan. That's obvious. Lynette and Tom still have the most grounded and real marriage of them all. Always laugh at how Lynette works her magic to get Tom to understand whatever current crazy idea he has isn't a good one. Always teach with an example, that's Lynette's strategy...LOL Bree - ah Bree, you're in for a shock. Blackmailed by your own husband. Gabby.....sigh, will she ever truly understand how good she has it? NO! I was surprised at Katherine's behavior tonight though. I do think in the end she'll make Mike and Susan realize they belong together. Why would she want to be with Mike, when she knows his true feelings? Sometimes in the scenes Katherine's in, I still catch glimpses of her China Beach McMurphy role and think, now wait, don't act that way! You're better than this Katherine.....

I haven't been talking about DH much because it's been fairly weak since Edie died. Last night was much better though(with lots of setup plots), but it still needs work. Next season needs a much better and involved mystery first of all(no one even suspects Dave did anything and it's frankly boring), and the Scavos need a real plot, not these standalone plots they've been having. Bree/Karl was once again the best part of the episode, their interaction is hilarious. Also liked Susan/Jackson/Mike/Katherine and Gaby/Carlos but the rest was eh. Next week looks great though, I just wish there had been better buildup to it. Ratings fell to another series low last night.

TV ratings: CBS and ABC split a soft Sunday
Numbers down across the board; 'Desperate Housewives' leads the night

Fast National ratings for Sunday, May 10, 2009

Mother's Day didn't bring many ratings bouquets to the networks as ratings were soft across the dial. CBS and ABC ended up splitting the night.

CBS led the overall race with a 6.3 rating/11 share in primetime. ABC finished second at 5.6/10, topping the 4.8/9 for NBC. FOX, 2.7/5, came in fourth, while The CW could muster only a 0.7/1.

ABC grabbed the top spot among adults 18-49, albeit with only a 2.9 rating in the key advertising demographic. NBC took second at 2.5, edging CBS' 2.4. FOX averaged 1.9 and The CW a paltry 0.3.

CBS' "60 Minutes" drew a 6.3/13 at 7 p.m. "America's Funniest Home Videos" put ABC in second with a 3.9/8. "Dateline," 2.7/6, grabbed third for NBC, easily beating the 1.4/3 average for "Sit Down, Shut Up" and an "American Dad" rerun on FOX. "Jericho" and the movie "The Spy Who Loved Me" aired on The CW.

The finale of "The Amazing Race," 5.9/10, kept CBS in the lead at 8. "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," 4.8/9, held onto second for NBC. The first hour of NBC's "Celebrity Apprentice" finale scored a 4.3/8. "The Simpsons," 3.0/6, and "King of the Hill," 2.5/4, kept FOX comfortably ahead of The CW's movie.

ABC's "Desperate Housewives" (7.6/12) scored one of its lowest ratings ever at 9, but still clocked in as the night's most-watched show. "Cold Case" earned a 7.2/12 for CBS. "The Celebrity Apprentice" improved to 5.7/9 on NBC. FOX closed its night with "Family Guy," 3.9/6, and "American Dad," 3.0/5. The CW finished up its movie.

At 10 p.m., the conclusion of "The Celebrity Apprentice" scored a 6.5/11 to give NBC the top spot. The "Brothers & Sisters" finale, 6.1/10, finished second in households for ABC, but "The Unit," 5.8/10, brought more viewers to CBS.

Huge night of TV tonight... finales of Bones, Earl, Parks and Recreation, Smallville, Grey's Anatomy(2 Hours, which is going to be incredible and very sad), CSI, Hell's Kitchen, The Office, 30 Rock, Supernatural and CSI: NY. Survivor's final Thursday episode is also tonight(finale is on Sunday).

Scrubs, Dollhouse, and Chuck all should have been canceled, but especially Scrubs and Dollhouse, Scrubs had a series finale last week and has had terrible ratings all season, while Dollhouse only managed a 1.9 rating last Friday which is lower than most shows on The CW.

But yay to Castle.
