Love bugs are funny, I don't own a car yet but I just love to scare this girl on the bus with them.

To my understanding not many things will even eat them...

By that line of reasoning, human beings are less useful than love bugs.

I have so many splats on my windshield, these fornicating bugs are the worst.

But humans are easier to clean off your windshield....

I had to dredge this topic up. I can't believe it's december and I'm seeing love bugs again! :grr:

I just finished cooking up the applesauce for Christmas Eve and went out back to have a smoke - and there the darn things were. I had to look twice just to be sure. lol

a similar type of bug in Latin America causes Chagas Disease, which ultimately kills the person (how it causes Chagas disease... well... do a web search as it is down right disgusting... thankfully, the Florida love bug does NOT do the same)

They are everywhere by me.

Had a meeting last week and came home via SR54. Got plastered by those nasty things! So thick it sounded like rain hitting the car.

They have ben swarming here for the past two weeks or so. Today doesn't seem quite as bad.

I'm an getting quite a kick out of a co-worker who just recently moved to Florida from New York. She covers her head with a rain coat and runs screaming to her car every afternoon:
...swatting and screaming
...swatting and screaming
...swatting and screaming

...lol ...

We tried to explain they don't bite, but she is absolutely terrified.

I shouldn't laugh.

Can't help it.
