Chuck and Big Bang Theory are my two break-out new shows this season. Third place would go to Journeyman. I would take on Samantha Who but I already have way too many shows to watch as it is!

Shrek the Halls will also reair on December 11th at 8.

The debate will probably repeat multiple times

So you could easily watch all three.

Carson Daly will resume taping "Last Call" next week. He is the first of the late-night show hosts to return to TV since the beginning of the strike.

From Variety
Showrunners quietly head back to work
Many of TV's top showrunners headed back to the office this week, resuming their non-writing chores (such as editing, supervising post production, etc.). One studio exec said "more than half" of his series' showrunners were back at work, both on the comedy and drama side.

Fueling the return: The revived talks between the Writers' Guild and AMPTP. That follows through on an arrangement proposed by many showrunners earlier this month, in which the multi-hyphenates agreed to return to work only if the studios agreed to return to the negotiating table.

The united front by TV's showrunners to halt their work forced several series to stop production sooner than expected, and is seen by many as having helped the WGA's cause -- serving as a catalyst to jumpstart talks.

With those negotiations back on, several showrunners were itching to return to work to finish off already written and produced episodes that nonetheless needed some supervision before completion. Also convincing some showrunners to return: The round of legal letters sent out to many showrunners warning them that by withholding their producing duties, they were in breach of contract.

Some exec producers had already returned to work to oversee non-writing production, including "Lost's" Carlton Cuse. Many more hit the office following the Thanksgiving holiday. But most of the returning showrunners are hoping to stay under the radar to avoid the appearance of picket crossing.

"I wouldn't disagree with your statement," said one showrunner -- who we'll keep anonymous -- when asked if they'd returned to work. "Generally I'm trying to keep a low profile."

Highlight to read. I put the following information in "spoiler" text, just in case, someone didn't want to know:

Someone dies sometime during the next episodes. Rumor is: it is one of the husbands. Spoilerfix has the exact information, but I didn't want to be too spoiled. My guess: it will be Nathan Fillon's character. Only because his secret will exposed.

ABC moved into the winners circle at 9 p.m. care of the two-hour season-finale of Dancing With the Stars at a whopping 24.93 million viewers and a 6.3 rating/15 share among adults 18-49 from 9-11 p.m. Take a look at the half-hour breakdown:

Dancing With the Stars
9:00 p.m. – Viewers: 24.30 million (#1), A18-49: 5.9/14 (#2)
9:30 p.m. – Viewers: 24.37 million (#1), A18-49: 6.0/14 (#2)
10:00 p.m. – Viewers: 25.28 million (#1), A18-49: 6.6/16 (#1)
10:30 p.m. – Viewers: 25.76 million (#1), A18-49: 6.9/17 (#1)

ABC has to put this against Idol in the Spring! That's amazing.

I think it's Victor. He and Carlos have a major fight during the tornado outside. It could be Adam, but I'm leaning strongly towards Victor, because it seems his story has run it's course. I would know more if there were several episodes filmed after this one, but due to the strike there is only one leftover and not much is known about it.

Here's an awesome ABC Sunday promo and it looks like after the Gaby/Edie fight, they take cover together in a safe room or basement and are seen holding each other scared.

No. They're still talking. But no one has walked away from the table, which is probably good news.

The showrunners are only going back for non-writing duties. Carson Daly is going back probably because of his non-writing staff.

Another Negotiating Session Thursday

Yes, the AMPTP and WGA are still talking -- or what passes for talking between this bunch. What was only supposed to be three days of talks is now four days of talks. Next round skedded for 10 AM Thursday. (Yes, I mangled this at first but it's fixed now.)

The Broadway stagehands strike is over, btw.

NBC ANNOUNCES NEW DRAMEDY SERIES 'LIPSTICK JUNGLE' TO PREMIERE ON THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 7

BURBANK, Calif. – November 28, 2007 – NBC's new dramedy "Lipstick Jungle," based on the best-selling novel by Candace Bushnell (who also wrote the book "Sex and the City") – and starring Brooke Shields ("Suddenly Susan"), Kim Raver ("24") and Lindsay Price ("Beverly Hills, 90210") – will premiere on Thursday, February 7 (10-11 p.m. ET).

The announcement was made today by Ben Silverman, Co-Chairman, NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios, as well as by the starring trio who appeared during NBC's live broadcast of "Christmas at Rockefeller Center" special on November 28.

"This provocative new series is a fun, sexy look at strong women in New York City," said Silverman. "We are very excited about Candace Bushnell's larger-than-life characters -- as embodied by its perfect cast -- that has made 'Lipstick' a highly anticipated event since the network acquired the best-selling book."

It's a jungle out there. Dress accordingly. Based on the best-selling book by Candace Bushnell (author of "Sex and the City"), the enticing new dramedy follows three high-powered friends as they weather the ups and downs of lives lived at the top of their game. Nico (Raver), editor-in-chief of a hot fashion magazine, has her eye on becoming CEO. Movie exec Wendy (Shields) does everything she can to balance career and family. And free-spirited designer Victory (Price) longs to make her dreams come true, and maybe find Mr. Right along the way. Armed with humor and strength, these three modern New York women support one another through the triumphs and tears that are all part of making it big in the Big Apple.

Also starring are Andrew McCarthy ("The Joy Luck Club"), Julian Sands ("24"), David Alan Basche ("United 93"), David Norona ("Frasier") and Paul Blackthorne ("Big Shots").

"ER" will continue in the Thursdays (10-11 p.m. ET) time slot through January when the Emmy Award-winning drama series completes its current run of original episodes.

That would have been ummm... sick.

I just can't believe Tish, to keep the secret like that for so long.

Patrick and Karen sleeping with Simon(how many guys does this make in 9 episodes?) are blah. Lisa and Jeremy were great together. I hate Lisa when she's just interacting with Nick and Karen. Whiny and annoying.

:shocked!:

Animated Shrek the Halls debuted on ABC with an impressive (and dominant) 21.06 million viewers and a 7.2 rating/20 share among adults 18-49 8 p.m. Comparably, I don’t not recall any holiday special on ABC ever performing this well. That led into a repeat of classic How the Grinch Stole Christmas at a first-place 18.74 million viewers and a 6.8/17 in the demo at 8:30 p.m. Comparably, the two half-hours combined outdelivered year-ago occupant Show Me the Money (Viewers: 7.69 million; A18-49: 2.2/ 6 on Nov. 29, 2006 -- remember that turkey?) by a significant 12.21 million viewers and 218 percent among adults 18-49.

That makes it the 3rd top-rated show of the week behind only DWTS, and it might be the #3 show of the week since CSI and Grey's are repeats tonight. The only thing that might threaten it is Desperate Housewives huge episode on Sunday.

NBC was WAY WAY behind with Christmas in Rockefeller Center. At 9, Criminal Minds ruled while Pushing Daisies lost a significant amount of the lead-in but was still 2nd(however had a big drop in the 2nd half-hour). Meanwhile, last night was very likely the last episode of Bionic Woman(and by last I mean it won't be back after the strike ends).

Dirty Sexy Money and Life are both doing poorly at 10, but both have full season orders.

I'm guessing reality shows are getting higher ratings because of the writers strike.
