The red line is the 30 year average, the blue line is the 6am GFS run, and the white line is the operational run of the ensemble.

You should have seen when the GFS went weird a couple of months ago, now that was werid.

Today it was a hot and sunny day at paradise with 92*F.I was tempted to go to Isla Verde Beach and I did for 2 hours this afternoon.

Well, Cycloneye, how do you feel about house guests?

I'm about ready to pack a bag and buy a plane ticket! It is snowing hard here and the roads are white, very slippery (an SUV has already slid into the front yard barricade down the street where the road curves--and SUVS slide into it during every storm, it seems because they take the curve too fast).

As usual, the forecast was not for this amount of snow. In fact it is supposed to snow on and off until tomorrow afternoon, but it was supposed to be light flurry type snow with little or no accumulation. Well, this is the heavy wet stuff and it looks as if it is coming down at almost an inch an hour to we may wel have our forecast total accumulation for the entire two-day storm out there already a couple of hours after the storm began...

Actually, the snow is very beautiful and it is quiet. And finally, finally, I'm beginning to get my elderly neighbors to believe S2K over our local weather people and when storms are forecast on the board, they now will go grocery shopping, prescription shopping, etc. EARLY so that they don't have to go (or send us) on emergency runs in snowstorms for which they were not prepared... They aren't waiting for the "official" forecasts which are "nowcasts" at best and sometimes behind "now." Apparently the broadcasting studios do not have any windows!

Yes, Sunny, we may have more roof shoveling... ':roll:'

We have to shovel if there is more than 10" on the roof (for weight) and perhaps even less if rain is expected because then the snow acts like a sponge and holds the rain and it's even heavier.

The other reason to shovel the roof is only a partial shovel--the bottom 4' or so and also to clear the gutters because otherwise snow and ice in the gutters backs up water under lower shingles on the roof and pulls them up and water leaks into walls of house, and so forth and it gets nasty... lots of damage.

Here's a roof-shoveling picture you may have missed--our local Stop & Shop in the "blizzard." These guys are huge over 6' construction worker types...

It's gonna be another nice and breezy day, however humidity levels are expecting to reach an all-time low which prompted today's RED FLAG WARNING. Hopefully none of the fires will be set. Temps will be reaching the lower 80s.
