"Sitting on the Front Porch"
Moderator: S2k Moderators
I had to dig the fleece out today and last night for once I slept with boxer pants on.... I usually sleep in shorts and t-shirt. I think I'll snuggle up tonight under the quilt.
I'll gladly share the unseasonable cold weather with you guys if you would like.... any takers? This is late September weather not Late August weather.... this has been the summer without a summer.... Throughout this summer, we DID NOT have a 90* reading!!!!
I'm dead serious... that has not happened in a long while.

We'll top out above 104 most days this week, so not quite long john weather here. The air is so dry, however, that the very minute that sun sets out over the Pacific, you can bank on a fresh feel to the night air...albeit still very warm.
With September coming, we can count on temps in the 90's for highs later in the month...the real cooldown usually begins by mid to late October with November often a great month!

I really can't complain, we had a pleasant summer. Not too hot, very few days with high humidity. Which is rare for a summer in Cincinnati. Now we had the cicadas to deal with but we all miss those buggers! I miss hearing their singing. I have two maples in our backyard planted near our deck for intentional shading. We have about 30 branch tips with dead leaves. Must have been the cicadas huh? Nature's pruners they said....now I don't know if I have to cut these off with our pruner poll or will they just fall off naturally?

Yes
Bob Child did pass Crouton (who is a pig) over to the Pot Belly Stove/Front Porch crew at the other place and he was brought over here during the Great Exodus. There was indeed also an Armadillo, but I forget the name since most of the time it was Crouton who was mentioned. AZSnow can also tell everyone about Crouton.

we FINALLY had warm and muggy weather! For the last couple of days, temperatures have been in the lower to mid 80s with a heat index in the upper 80's. I actually enjoyed this weather!
I start school tomorrow (Friday) interesting start day huh? Classes normally started on Thursday (today) but I don't have tues/thurs classes.... so don't get to drive up to campus until Friday. No classes again til Wednesday! I start my internship with WGBA NBC 26 on Labor Day!!!

Fellow Porchians/Friends - I'm afraid this excellent Jim Cantore article will get lost in the shuffle over at Hurricane Hollow. You blink and there are 10 new topics sometimes!!!! Anyway, if you'd like to learn more about JC, please read it. It is sad but also inspirational. He's not just my fave OCM for forecasting abilities (and his uh, good looks) alone anymore.....LOL I admire him more than ever now.

The Front Porch is a place to sit, shoot the breeze, talk about your day, the weather and enjoy the company of fellow weather nuts! So....come on, have a seat, put up your feet, rest a spell, have a glass of iced tea!
