Tom seems a little off his game at times. First he got quite drunk - have I mentioned that? LOL But overall when he speaks, he almost seems lathargic. Weary of it all. Before he just seemed in charge or control, clear headed, directed. The past few times he's given opinions he just seems tired.

I was surprised he didn't stick up for Stephanie too. Next week will be very interesting. I don't know who Steph has to allign herself with but she it's probably not Tom at this point.

Tom will definitely be a target, I think. He is a strong player and has the "leadership" role. They other players want this in the beginning, but after the mergers, those are the ones they start plotting against.

So, Mary and Karan, we need to enjoy our "Tom Fest" while we can!!!

I will enjoy our 'Tom-Fest' next week, but if he goes, that is one interview the next morning on the Early Show I won't be looking forward to. It will be like when Sarge was voted off, way too soon.

Steph will likely write down Tom's name, she won't have to be talked into it. She doesn't seem the type to hold a grudge, but she'll remember he was out to vote her off.

I find myself feeling sorry for Steph a lot. Near the end when it was just her, Ib and Bobby Jon. The only girl. Then Bobby Jon and his male-gross habits. Then alone. Now she's a Kororer, but still, all alone.

If she knew a viewer felt sorry for her, she'd probably say, don't!

During Janu's interview on the Early Show, I could tell she was choosing her words carefully so as to not give upcoming spoilers away. As Brent pointed out, I think it was James that gave away important details. All Janu would say is - sorry, you all have to watch. I know I'd screw up those interviews!!!

FYI - because of the President's Speech tonight, Survivor was pushed back an hour. Adjust your recording/viewing accordingly. Good thing we were home, otherwise I would have missed it entirely. But we did record the speech.....;-). Just added another hour.

Over on NBC, they just pre-empted Joey and Will & Grace, they will air tonight's new episodes next week. NBC went right into their regular 9 and 10 p.m. shows.

Just wondering, why don't these people on Survivor ever use their heads??? Do they not see that Gregg is setting them up big time???? I think it's gonna be another Rob and Amber, but with Gregg and whatshername....

I hate they booted Stephanie, if they used their heads they could have done a lot better for themselves, women and men alike....Tom or Gregg would have been good ones to go. Certrainly Karen needs to keep her mouth shut!

I hated to see Steph go too. Sad for her! Now she has to sit on that jury with Coby and Janu. Janu who quit. That should be an interesting threesome to watch next week, for facial expressions/giveaways. I predict it will be Coby sitting between them, unless he has to walk in first being the first Jury member. What's with Janu's eye makeup? She wears too much!

Back on subject.....thought for sure Caryn was a goner. Of course by now I expect the vote to go a completely different way than what the producers are editing. What they should do is throw viewers a curve, now that we know they do this intentionally. Hope that makes sense! As soon as it looked bad for Caryn, my husband said - it won't be her, they're being too obvious here.

LOL @ Jeff for telling Ian he wreaked! That boy is as skinny as Janu was before she left. He needs food!

Still feel really bad for Steph, you could tell she did not want to leave. I don't know what her downfall was. She had to have known it was going to be her from the previous tribal council.

And Mary, you're probably right. Gregg and Jen, she's his girl and a nanny, aw isn't that cute......not!......producers have downplayed their romance on air, but you know there was plently of footage we didn't see. I'm sure they're tight. Even though she's not a threat to anyone for a milion bucks, she's entitled to a vote each council.

I'm taping Steph's interview on the Early Show right now. I'll post later what she said. You ~know~ that girl's gonna have plenty to say!

No more Ulong members...even though Steph wore a Koror buff, she was never really a member of their tribe, in their eyes.

PS - here's TV Guide's Friday morning take on Survivor:
http://www.tvguide.com/tv/watercooler/

Survivor
Tonight was one big mass of confusion and disapointment regarding Palau. After getting off to a late start because of the prez — which baffled more poor TiVo. I finally got to watch Survivor and Stephenie — my fave — got sent packing. Poor little She-ra was one tough competitor. They might not have wanted this pint-sized threat around, but if I'm ever stranded on a desert island she is the one person that I would want with me. Loved Jeff in full Monty Hall Let's Make a Deal mode continuing the mean streak that this season of Survivor has been employing by not showing the tired tribers the items they were bidding on. They could have wasted their not-earned cash on crabs. And Probst is getting more honest by outright telling Ian that he reeked. Which led to the most bizarre back-scrubbing ever with Gregg loofahing Ian. I've heard the phrase, I'll scrub your back if you scrub mine, but never did I think I would see it demonstrated in quite this way. — Angel Cohn

Cindy,

How about where Ian invited Tom to come along for that ride in Ian's spankin' new Corvette and for a feast and visit to that mansion! :)

Those women mad as wet hens with a leaky coop roof!! LOL

Well, gosh dang it - I was wondering if I was the lone - sniff, sniff - Survivor fan left here......did ya'll vote me off the island or something? LOL

So yes - I'm here, I'm here!!!!

Discuss away. I was shocked at Caryn speaking up like that. She's always been so serious but whoa, tonight's tribal council was definitely not a snoozefest.

Tom's looking a little wan lately. We all know Ian's long past needing a few steak dinners - let's get some meat on that boy - but we watched the theme song tonight before the ep, and Tom's face is looking a little drawn now. Still, a hunk though....or as my kids would say a hottie mom!

Ian is still my favorite even though, bless his heart, he said he's scatterbrained. So am I and so is my daughter Laura. He'd fit right in this family.....

BOY - were they ever!!! To tell you the truth, I would have been disappointed if Ian HADN'T invited Tom!!

Personally, I am glad that Caryn is gone.

LOL - never fear Mary, Eric and Cindy are here!!!

I do like to look at Tom - but I really want to see Ian win this one. He was most definitely in need of that steak dinner!! Poor Ian.

Caryn I never really liked from the beginning. Something about her just got under my skin.

I was shocked Ian invited Tom. We thought he agreed to asking Caryn, to keep her happy. Poor Katie, giggling and looking all excited expecting to be asked. I did not see that one coming. After Gregg taking two girls last week and in the end sealing the deal for his fate, you'd think Ian wouldn't do the same. We were worried he might go tonight.

Glad too Caryn's gone. Now she can go color her hair again.....that was catty wasn't it? LOL I noticed her gray was coming in and couldn't help but wonder what the heck I would like at day 36. Man oh man, I'd be in need of some serious facials or something. Some Nice & Easy, LOL!!!!

What did you all think of Ian's tears? They didn't stream down his face but he was upset to see Katie upset. I do think that boy is a nice kid. Never having had a son, I can see why Tom took him under his wing. All in all, just one nice kid.

Exactly Mary - he is a nice kid. He is not devious like Chris was. Or manipulative like Rob. He is just a nice kid.

Soooo, the million $ question would be......

Would you rather have a really nice kid like Ian win?

oops, question #2 coming.....

Would you rather have someone who competed very well in challenges and worked his tail off, like Tom, to win?

It's a hard choice for me. Tom worked hard from minute one. Ian did too but he kept that boy next door integrity. '

My vote, if I could, is still for Ian. But if Tom wins, I wouldn't be upset.

Thoughts?

I agree about Ian...he really is a heckuva nice fella! :)

Man alive, hadn't ever seen Ian though get really emotional until that one on one with Katie!! I felt bad for him, too, bearing the verbal punches from her!

And Caryn's personality transformation at tonight's tribal council...WHEW girl!!
Glad she's gone, too, as I never really liked her either.

Yes, between Tom and Ian for the Million $$ Jackpot...it is tough to really know who to cheer on with Tom's competitive skills and Ian's nice demeanor.

Well that was interesting...

First off, the finale is Sunday. 8-10pm ET with the reunion show 10-11(yes, my beloved Housewives will be tape delayed by 2 hours).

Now about tonight... WOW.

I am also rooting for Tom. :)

Well...I'm going out on a limb here.

A lot of bloodletting tonight...and backstabbing was brutal. But I'm going to say that one of the girls has a shot now...and that maybe Ian and Tom could be gone...with Ian pulling the trigger on Tom first.

The plot thickens....

Man I just don't know what is gonna happen. I really think Miss Blondie is gonna sneak in somehow! She was just standing back watching it all and taking it all in. If Tom would have been smart and not held to his alliance with Ian, he would have booted him...the girls don't have a chance at immunity with Tom around, even as weak as he is and man he looks bad the last couple of weeks. It may be all the Gray that has appeared in his hair. He was conniving tonight wasn't he.

I think the jury would find it hard to pick between Tom and Ian and Ian would probably win out with the girls :)

I couldn't believe he took Tom at that trip...man didn't he remember what happened with Gregg last week???? They left all three girls together....and are the girls stupid or what...they should have booted a guy and then they MIGHT have had a chance at immunity.

These people don't think sometimes on this show.....or maybe they are just "too involved" and can't take a step back and look at what we see. Some Power Plays could have been pulled off the last couple of weeks and they haven't happened, except for Gregg last week.

Blondie.....you mean Barbie? LOL

I was watching Jen in the challenges closely. She was giving it 100% and keeping up at times (the memory game). Meanwhile Caryn was having lots of trouble. So from that standpoint, Jen deserves to still be in the game. I would not want her to win though. Because you know half might go to Gregg......that Ambuh/Rob thing.

I forgot to record this morning's Early Show! Dang......oh phooey, Caryn was probably sad-sack-Caryn anyway. Let's bare all and tell the jury what's really been going on.

Did you all catch Coby smirking like he usually does? I feel like I'm watching a school assembly, with him smirking, ribbing the 'students' behind him in the bleachers.....LOL Steph was more subtle - just a slight smile. Of course I'm sure there were more jury reactions that were edited out. Coby still cracks me up though.....

Mary - I couldn't believe Ian forgot how quickly Gregg taking 2 girls to his reward, backfired on him. Ian got lucky. Taking Tom, could have really backfired on his chances of staying in the game.

Steve - I think you're right. One of the girls has a good shot of winning. And I hope it's not Jennifer.

Here's how I'm rooting to win....

#1 Ian
#2 Tom
#3 Katie
#4 Barbie (and Ken)

Brent - it's got to be killing you, knowing probably how this all ends up.

However, this is one show/time I don't want to know who wins! So please, mum's the word okay? LOL
