Now, we Chinese guys have revenged for the deaths in the US

Yichang, Hubei Province, China.
A tiger got killed right in the zoo of Yichang City, Hubei Province. The hunters removed its skin off and left it somewhere in the zoo.

Found this tidbit reported on the NY post Website about the youths had a slingshot. I then found a article on ABC NEWS that said Police deny the kids had slingshots. The police are still investigating and who knows what the true story really is but my first impression was something provoked the Tiger. I have a feeling this will end up being a Law and Order script in the future.

December 31, 2007 --

SAN FRANCISCO - Two brothers who were injured when a tiger attacked them at the San Francisco Zoo had slingshots on them at the time, a source said.

An empty vodka bottle was also found in a car used by Amritpal Dhaliwal, 19, and his brother, Kulbir, 23, on the day of the mauling, which left 17-year-old Carlos Sousa Jr. dead, according to the source.

The discoveries could be an indication that the brothers may have taunted the 350-pound Siberian tiger before it leapt from its grotto.

San Francisco cops have said since the Christmas Day incident that there was no indication the tiger was provoked.

The brothers have not commented since they left a hospital Saturday.

When the zoo opens tomorrow, the tigers will not be on display, as officials work to ensure that their enclosure is safe.

Meanwhile, an unidentified couple was allowed to hold their wedding at the zoo last night under tight security. Guests had to clear special checkpoints.

I'm surprised a lawsuit hasn't happened yet. The zoo is at fault for this incident due to the wall not being able to contain the tiger.

As for the tiger itself, it is (or was, anyway) a living, wild animal and I echo Miss Mary's sentiment that it doesn't exist to be treated like a museum exhibit for people to gawk at in a little enclosure.

The brothers have hired a legal heavyweight . Here is a excerpt from the Abc News link from my previous post.

The brothers who survived the vicious tiger attacks at San Francisco Zoo last week have hired legal pit bull Mark Geragos in anticipation of filing a lawsuit against the zoo

Me too actually.

Just a question, do you believe all zoos should be banned?

My gut feeling is that someone taunted that tiger as well. I find it hard to believe that she would be able to clear that wall without a lot of adrenaline in her.

I also don't understand why a zoo wouldn't have cameras located around at the various exhibits.

No, the tiger shouldn't have been able to jump that wall. The zoo should've complied with the recommended height of the wall (even though we're talking $$$$). This should not have happened, but if it comes down to the fact that those boys were taunting her, that tiger is just as much a victim and they should share some of the responsibility of their own actions.

:uarrow: It makes all the sence in the world to have cameras keepin an eye on dangerous animals.

Always these kind of incidents show the problems and sometimes it takes a tragedy to resolve the problems. Here we have two tragedies here. A human killed and an endangered animal killed.

I was thinking the same exact thing. There are perhaps two main problems to this, one was definitely the wall and the second the POSSIBLE taunting. If the wall was high enough, the tiger probably would not have been able to jump it and IF the kids were taunting her, the abuse would probably never see the light of day in the media.

Hopefully the total truth will come to light.

This article is hinting that maybe the brothers did taunt the Tiger.. I agree with Stephanie about the Cameras and the thought if indeed the boys did taunt the tiger they should share in the responsibility for the attack.

Not necessarily. I just think there are better ways to execute the idea of a zoo and some zoos are better than others. I also believe that no one should blame the animal if it escapes and hurts someone. As someone mentioned earlier, you can take the animal out of wild, but you can't take the wild out of the animal.

Large cats have been in that enclosure for 67 years without any problems. These morons did something that caused it to scale a 14 foot wall.
