McDonald's worker arrested for serving Salty Hamburger.

I really can't believe that this conversation is happening. If giving a customer a defective product was illegal, our states would go broke building jails, or simply not enforce the law since there is no housing for the prisoners. The worker should NOT have been arrested.

Second, the worker should not be fired either. She did as she was told by a supervisor which is all that can be expected of a McDonald's cook.

it wasn't like the burgers were a little salty according to the article, they were much saltier than they should have been and the mistake was dileberately not corrected

No im not ok with that.. In fact I do believe she should of been fired.. THAT is how you handle an employee not doing what they are suppose to.. Or not up holding the store's standards. Fire her butt on the spot.. But arresting said employee? thats just ignorant. Got my car washed last weekend and the vacuming job they did was lousy and the one who did it had to know it was lousy when they were done.. was no not seeing everything they missed.. I didn't call the cops though

Exactly right, the company should have disciplined the workers but arresting them is just plain crazy. I bet those Cops would still be Laughing their As*es off if someone came to the station to have the workers arrested over a salty Burger..

One would think that if there was that much salt that the consumer would have been able to taste it when they were eating it? Like bite #1?

I think flwxwatcher is right. I think the only reason this person was arrested is that the cop thought she added the extra salt on purpose because he was a cop. I have serious doubts that she would have been arrested if, he'd been a "regular Joe."

Plus, it doesn't specify what "sick" meant. Did he throw up, or was he just nauseous? Did his heart race, or did he get dizzy? Who knows if it was the burger that made him sick in the first place, maybe he had touch of stomach flu.

I agree that the manager should be held responsible, as well as the employee, if not more so. Was it shoddy workmanship? YES. Was it bad judgement? YES. Do they deserve to be disciplined? YES. Was it jail worthy? Not in my opinion.

That is about the most stupidest thing (yea I know, real good English) I have ever heard of. That officer must had really gotten sick, but still, was it from the salt or the grease? Come on he should have tasted the "too much salt and pepper" in the first bite and spit it out! I will tell you that most jails are far to overcroweded for this. Our jail in this count had a population of 432 last week for a jail that was built to house 74 inmates................don't think she would have spent the night there, she would have immediately been bonded out on her OR or given a ticket.

I can't imagine anyone so dumb that they would eat something that salty to make them sick. Sure with too much salt your blood pressure can go up, but one hamburger patty????? Come on......get real!
