6 miners still trapped... BREAKING NEWS: New bad news??
Moderator: S2k Moderators
Turn on Fox news and Please send a prayer.. The first pipe is set to break through to where the miners are any minute now. The miners are trained to bang on that pipe the minute it breaks through to let rescuers know they are still alive. If they are still alive they know the pipe is coming as there is no doubt they would be able to hear the drilling.. Keep in mind it is about 50 degrees down there and any battery power lights they had would be dead by now.
Just terrible. Please Please Please say a prayer

Re: 6 miners trapped... WILL BREAK THROUGH TO MINERS ANY MINUTE
I think they've been dead since the collapse Monday. They would have heard some sounds by now.

If they are dead, I hope it was quick for them. Thoughts and prayers to their families through all this.

Re: 6 miners still trapped after a week... not looking good
Earlier Wednesday, some noise was detected by devices monitoring vibrations in the mountain, raising "a very small amount" of hope that the men might be found alive, officials said.
The sounds detected by two geophones could be a rock breaking underground or even an animal, said Richard Stickler, chief of the federal Mine Safety and Health Administration.
"We saw some indication of noise for a period of about five minutes that we had not seen before," Stickler said.
While the source of the noise wasn't known, Stickler said it had "created a very small amount of hope and optimism" among the families.
There are a total of six geophones on the mountain, all of which picked up measured noise Wednesday morning, some stronger than others, Murry said. The vibrations occurred every 1.5 seconds, in a steady pattern for five minutes, he said.
"We have no idea what that sound is, but we are going to know when we get the fourth hole down there," Murray said.
Plans for the location of a fourth borehole, to begin Thursday, had changed because of the "unusual" noise readings, both men said.
Murray, who is chief of Murray Energy Corp., the co-owner and operator of the Crandall Canyon Mine, also cautioned: "Don't read too much into this noise we picked up, but it is a sign of hope."

If they were steady vibrations in the same pattern for nearly 5 minutes...that sounds like something unnatural [ie rocks breaking or an animal digging or something similar]. Sounds like, to my uneducated self, that someone down there found something to signal with and figured they would give it a shot. We'll find out hopefully tomorrow, and with God's good grace, we'll find all 6 of them huddled together alive and in good health on the other side of the ventalition curtain.

Ambulances on scene... UNCONFIRMED reports of a 2nd collapse. It doesn't sound like good news, mine owner says "emergency situation"
