John, if you're looking for a suggestion on a city to visit, out of all those you listed I'd start with NYC. Everyone should see it and experience it. it's an amazing place to visit. It's great for tourists because you can get around easily without a car. You can fly there pretty cheap. I'd be happy to help you plan a trip there if you want.

Too many. If I ever visited the U.S. Boston would be right at the top of my list being a Red Sox fan. And I don't think anyone on this board could miss out a trip to the two American RSMCs, so Miami and Honolulu. NYC is definitely on the list too, as is D.C.. Then perhaps some random western city... maybe Seattle?

I couldn't live there, either. Too crowded. But it's an amazing place to visit. The city that never sleeps. And of course there's Las Vegas, the Other city that never sleeps.

I eventually wanna go to NYC because it's my "hometown".. I was born in Queens but moved way too young to remember anything..
I'd wanna go there to see a Rangers game @ the Garden or if I can.. as much as I can't stand them.. go see a NYY game at Yankee Stadium b4 it gets torn down after next season..
I'm heavily leaning towards either Denver or Phoenix for now for my next big trip.
But I'd have to adjust to the 2 hr difference {DNV} or 3 {PHX}.. because even the 1 hour difference in Nashville did a little # on me..
It's ok.. I'll figure out something by early next year when I wanna take my next big trip.. {$ permitting lol}

I love NYC. I am the biggest NYC fan you will ever meet. Always loved it since I was a young kid. Wouldn't mind living there. Yes, I know it is expensive.

We'll be in NYC in a month, visiting family there. Couldn't live there, either, but I do like visiting there every now and then-- esp. to see the Yankees play! We're, also, heading to Boston this fall for a family reunion. I haven't been back there in a long time and can't wait!
As for major cities I'd like to see: I'd love to see San Diego and San Francisco. I've heard both places are really nice.

I've been to 45 states and 10 countries-lol, but one of the 5 states I haven't been to is Alaska, and I've always wanted to see any city or anywhere in Alaska. I'm really into photography, and would love to photograph some of the wilderness of Alaska.

Seattle, San Fransisco, Chicago, and Boston. Haven't "been there and done those", yet!

We haven't been to NYC since before 9/11. I'm not sure if we'll go down to that area, but it's going to be sad to see that vacant spot on the skyline.

Not all Major cities are tourist traps.... Places like Mackinaw Island & Traverse City, MI are on my place to visit....
Honolulu was TOO packed for me... go visit the other islands.... there is much more to see than just Honolulu. IMO.

When I do finally decide to go to NYC.. I wanna go to Ground Zero.. it's history.. {really bad history}.. But I love historical things n I wanna see what it looks like..
I also would wanna go see just about every big tourist attraction u can think of.. plus seeing either the Rangers or Yankees..
If it's also during hockey season.. I'd wanna go to Long Island and see the Islanders play..

Oh yeah, when I go to NYC, Ground Zero is going to be at the top of my list. I have to see it...

I never was at the WTC while it stood, but was in NYC to do a concert at Carnegie Hall in April 2002 in honor of the victims. Visiting ground zero was one of the most moving experiences of my life. I just stood there for a while and prayed and finally just burst out crying as the immenseness of what had happened there had become very real for me. It is very strange to see the skyline with that big hole in it. I can pick it out from almost any angle you view Manhattan from. For those wanting to visit ground zeero now I am not sure what is still set up there since they are getting ready to build the freedom tower.

I have been to ground zero. It's a big hole in the ground. It is quite sobering. You should also visit St Pauls....the little Episcopal church across the street that survived and was used to give rescue workers breaks.
