This story made the BBC too, and apparently some have suggested this was racially-motivated (because allegedly blacks wear their pants lower, hip-hop style), and the mayor had to defend it saying "whites wear saggy pants too".

THAT IS NOT A PROBLEM, IT'S A NUISANCE. A problem is education, healthcare, salaries, unemployment, taking care of the elderly, and a lot more.

It comes down to parenting and the lack thereof.

I agree. I would never allow my kid to wear something like that while he is under my house and under my rules.

Unfortunately, I've even seen parents who have that fashion style.

It's fashion... There is no big deal here.. None at all.. Girls wearing tight white pants can be father more 'exposing' than this... If you want to ban something disgusting and crude... ban speedos! This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard...It's not exposing anything,This isn't the early 20th century, luckily people have a choice on how they want to look.I'd rather have my pants down to my knees than look like some idiot sitting with their pants above their bellybutton.

You may as well ban woman from not wearing bra's/Wearing bikinis. It's just infringing on peoples choices.Exposure can not be an issue here due to so many other things that are 100x more exposing but still allowed.

I`m past my pant-sagging stage..but I enjoy knowing that I can actually choose how I want to dress
