   It sounds like the world was a better place with Lacey in it. I would have loved to watch her play! I know how we feel about Hurricane and Abbey (our two "kids" - dogs) and can only imagine what you and the ones she left behind must be feeling. I'm so sorry.

I found a website -gosh -can't think of the name of it-but it had the most beautiful poem about pets who had passed. If I find it, I'll try to post it, but only with your permission - I wouldn't want to add to your sorrow.

I, too, honestly believe that our pets will be waiting to greet us when our time comes. In the meantime, you have such wonderful memories to cherish. Our deepest sympathies to you and your family.

sincerely,
Dave, Elle, Hurricane and Abbey

It is getting harder and harder now that the holidays are approaching. Halloween is just right around the corner and I keep thinking about the time I dressed Lacey up as a clown. Her head was so small that her clown hat kept falling off looking like a missle. I actually cried myself to sleep over this the last few days. I don't talk about it much because people may say she was just a dog and get over it. But, to animal lovers like me, I treated her like she was my child.

I am still looking. The only pet store in Houma is getting a shipment of Yorkie puppies in 2 weeks. But, selling them for $850. That is way out of my price range. Another one was in the paper but male and wanted $950. Plus, it got to be something that my parents agree on, too because I am still living at home. One minute my mom says she is ready for another dog and the next minute she says she is not. She keeps changing her mind back and forth. She says maybe closer to Christmas. Even though, that is over 2 months away and feel I can't wait that long. I went to a party on Saturday night and the person there happened to own a Yorkie. I immediatly went over and petted her and picked her up. She gave me nothing but doggie kisses and I had to fight back the tears.

cajungal - all my animals I have had have been adopted from the spca - you absolutely have no idea what kind of love these animals will give you - it is as though they know you rescued them! Give it a chance for the sake of a dog that might otherwise have to be put to sleep needlessly.

Still no luck finding a Yorkie puppy. Hopefully we can get one in time for Christmas or a little sooner. I regret not having bought my digital camera sooner, so you could saw pictures of my baby! Lacey was such a cutie! But, after I bought my digital around February, she started to get sick. And I did not want to remember her like that. So, I stopped taking photos, so I don't have any of her on my computer.

cajungal- I understand your loss and the emptiness left behind. Here is a thought, maybe your mom is wanting to surprise you with a new baby for Christmas? Keep looking, but give mom a chance too! :O)

I second and third opinions on checking out the pound.shelter to find the next love of your life!!! (hugs)

SAD UPDATE!

We discovered that our 6-people-year-old apricot toy poodle, Annabelle (she be a ho') has a "fatty tumor" on her belly; vet says that if it hardens, she'll have to remove it. :(

I cannot conceive of life without our "Nanner, nasty thing, Thing of Things and Ho' of Ho's, Best of Ho' ", etc. etc. :( :( ...she's family. And, Storm2K's 2004 Pet of the Year. :larrow:

sorry to here that streetsoldier  BUT we had a german shepard that lived another 7 years (died at 13) after her first fatty tumor - the vet told us they are fairly common and not to worry about them - and that is not what she died from. So hopefully you will have many more years with your girl.
