I never liked coffee and can tell I never will want to drink it.

I've been drinking cappuccino for the last couple years.

I actually don't like supporting them, but when I am out and about with a headache, and I am closer to them than the grocery store that sells espressos and such, I will bend and stop there. I agree, the Caramel Macchiatto is divine.

But I don't like what they do to the little man any more than I do what Walmart or Home Depot does.

Probably for one of at least two legitimate reasons --
http://www.snopes.com/rumors/starbuck.htm
http://www.snopes.com/rumors/cool.htm

(Disclaimer: Not everything at Snopes is false. They're there to discern the urban myths from the true urban legends and tales.)

Because of something I heard about them charging firefighters for water. Never checked to see if the story was false though.

Sadly, it's not false. It's true. I read about it shortly after 9/11 and it's Snopes has the facts on it (I posted the link above).

So true. Like the Snopes article says, it was bad enough for one employee to behave like that -- individuals can be heartless at times, but dealt with. However, when it was brought to the attention of the higher-ups and they failed to rectify the situation, it made the entire company look bad.

I forgot to answer the main question -- I've tried Starbucks. It's okay, but I don't think there's anything special about it. The bottled frappucino drinks are good (but heavy in fat content!). Of course, Baskin-Robbins used to (and might still) make a really good frothy, icy frappucino that was three times as big and 10 times better tasting for about the same price, if not a bit less. :)
