Shawn - thanks for that old article. Makes me even more careful now. I swear I never knew xmas light cords could contain lead.
Bill - no, sorry. Didn't see that segment.
Garrett - I throw all the boxes away too. That's why I really have no idea if what we have is safe or not. I do know that when the holiday season is over, my daughter is taking down her bedroom lights - oh yeah, no talking me into leaving them up all year long. There are many restaurants that keep lights up year-round too. There really should be more info on this topic. Again, I just had no idea until I flipped the Kmart brand box over. Learn something new everyday.
